ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Develop and execute plans, policies, and practices that control, protect, deliver, and enhance the value and integrity of the organization's data and information assets and programs.
  • Maintain, implement, and monitor the quality of the data and information with the architecture used across the company; reports on results and identifies and recommends system application changes required to improve the quality of data in all applications.
  • Process unstructured data into a form suitable for analysis, followed by doing the analysis.
  • Integrate innovation and algorithms into the organization's data systems, working closely with engineering team.
  • Implement complex data projects with a focus on collecting, parsing, managing, analyzing, and visualizing large sets of data to turn information into insights using multiple platforms.
  • Serve as a data subject matter expert, collaborates with business owners or external clients to establish an analysis plan to answer key business questions, and deliver both reporting results and insights.
  • Generate specific and operational reports in support of objectives and initiatives, and presents and communicates complex analytical data and results to appropriate audiences.
  • Design, build and implement data pipelines and data models in Azure SQL Synapse for large-scale data processing and storage.
  • Implement data orchestration pipelines, data sourcing, cleansing, and augmentation and quality control processes.
  • Develop and maintain ETL workflows, data integrations, and data transformation scripts.
  • Manages and coordinates with internal or external parties the collection, compilation, normalization, and standard analysis of data assets across diverse projects and data platforms.
  • Collects, stores, processes, and analyzes raw and/or complex data from multiple sources, recommends ways to apply the data, chooses and designs optimal data solutions, and builds data processing systems, using expertise in data warehousing solutions and working with the latest database technologies.
  • Optimize the performance of data processing and storage by tuning queries and implementing appropriate indexing strategies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, business analysts, and other stakeholders, to gather requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
  • Support data architects in designing data architectures.
  • Develops, maintains, evaluates, and tests valuates data solutions within an organization.
  • Implement data governance, data security, and data quality measures in compliance with industry standards and regulations.
  • Investigates data quality problems, conducts analysis to determine root causes of problems, corrects errors, and develops prototypes, process improvement plans across all programs, and proof of concepts for the selected solutions.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot data processing and storage issues and provide support for data-related issues.
  • Decides on hardware and software design needs and acts according to the decisions.
  • Additional duties as assigned.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including advanced analytics teams and business units.
  • Familiar with Agile practices and methodologies.
  • An understanding of “big picture” business requirements that influence architecture and design decisions.
  • Expertise in developing ETL/ELT workflows.
  • Good knowledge of CI/CD process.
  • A deep understanding of relational and warehousing database technology.
  • Intellectual curiosity, ability to execute projects and master new skills.
  • Ability to manage time and schedules to meet deadlines.

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • BS/BA/MS in a relevant field or related discipline (Data Engineering, Software Engineering, Data Science, Computer Science, Applied mathematics, etc.) required.
  • 3 years professional data engineering experience focused on batch and real time data pipeline development using Python, Spark, Scala-Add SQL, Hive and NoSQL
  • Experienced in Azure Cloud Platform (ADLS, Blob Storage, Event Hub, Data Factory)
  • Hands-on RDBMS experience (data modeling, analysis, programming, stored procedures)

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the Team Member is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, talk, and hear for extended periods of time throughout the course of daily activities.
  • The Team Member frequently is required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, or telephone.
  • The Team Member is occasionally required to climb, lift, balance, stoop, kneel, or crouch.
  • The Team Member is required to work on a computer, in addition to doing paperwork.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

  • Work is performed in a hybrid office/work from home or a fully remote environment.
  • Position involves encounters with members at every level of the organization, vendors, and members of the public, and requires a sense of responsibility to provide a high level of customer service and accurate information.
  • This position requires a professional approach and demeanor under all conditions.
Compensation: $80,000 - $110,000
