Duties and Responsibilities: Listed in order, ranking the most essential duties first. Essential functions are primary job duties that are intrinsic to the position.

• Responsible for all activities that encourage safe and consistent operation of machinery in and around the plant.
• Leads and directs different skill level mechanics, on different shifts in normal and regular maintenance activities
• Familiar with production mix and schedules, PM activities and normal and acceptable maintenance activities. Works within regulation, government guidelines and practices.
• Should be familiar with all maintenance disciplines as well as inventory practices.
• Trains, counsels and develops employees, to perform numerous duties in maintaining and repairing the equipment.
• Gives instruction to subordinates, communicates results from goals and objectives.
• Develops and maintains a positive, respectful work environment.
• Responsible for achievement of production goals, levels of efficiency and compliance with rules and regulations.
• May perform additional duties as assigned.
• Reports to Engineer

Employee Supervision Standards: Extent of supervision required.

 Employee performs assigned task given specific instructions; progress is checked periodically.

 Employee proceeds alone on routine tasks following standard instructions. Refers all questionable situations to immediate supervisor.

 Employee may arrange own work, but carries out work under specified standards. Is presumed to know routine work details and performance standards of the job. Refers to supervision only when in serious doubt as to the procedure.
