The Technical Support Engineer is part of the Software Engineering department, working closely with the Field Services department, and is primarily responsible for Help Desk Level 2 inbound calls/inquires and setting up service solutions, and secondarily responsible for deploying and supporting end-user technology and software. The Technical Support Engineer is a key role in executing Runbeck’s strategic vision and involves delivering exceptional customer service and support to end-users and managing the flow, resolution, or possible escalation of service desk requests. This individual must have professionalism, patience, and a people-first attitude, while attention to detail is a must.

Responsibilities:

  • On-call for product/client support 
  • Act as a support escalation for applications
  • Work with the Product team and customers to understand and resolve application support issues
  • Recommend application enhancements to improve supportability
  • Be a subject matter expert (SME) in supported applications
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade software
  • Evaluate user feedback
  • Comply with project plans and industry standards
  • Recommend performance and reliability improvements for supported applications
  • Be an active participant in a self-organized scrum development team
  • Provide increasingly accurate estimates of work to be done
  • Demonstrate changes to Product Owners and stakeholders

Requirements

Key Requirements:

  • Familiarity with web-based systems and associated modules
  • Familiarity with JavaScript frameworks such as Blazor, React or Angular2, ASP.NET MVC, Web API, HTML, JavaScript, SQL, Web Services, XML, ADO.NET, etc.
  • Basic understanding of .Net Core, .Net Standard, the .NET Framework and Visual Studio
  • Experience with SQL Server; writing SQL scripts and stored procedures preferred
  • Ability to gain, understand and apply information and data as it relates to Information Technology
  • Ability to use good judgment, problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Work in a fast-paced environment where deadlines are essential, and maintain good communication with the team
  • Maintain a professional image and work environment
  • Organize, plan, prioritize and follow through on work
  • Strong Interpersonal communication skills, both verbal and written required

Experience/Education:

  • 2 – 3 years of relevant work experience
  • Knowledge in Windows 10/11, Active Directory, Microsoft 365, hardware, and helpdesk ticketing software and processes
  • Exceptional logical troubleshooting skills across the enterprise technology stack
  • Strong technical ability
  • Basic Active Directory management skills
  • Grow in the ability to resolve complex issues and reduce the need to escalate to other team members
  • Excellent written and verbal communication with all levels of the organization
  • As a customer-facing position, the Technical Support Engineer must have professional communication skills with all levels of the organization, the ability to interact with a wide variety of personality types, and exceptionally good follow-up/follow-through skills
  • A sense of urgency with internal motivation and capacity to work in a demanding, high-energy, fast-paced environment
  • Ability to appropriately balance quality and speed and focus on delivery with high detail and accuracy where it matters most
  • A collaborative team member with a continuous improvement mindset
  • 2 – 4-year degree in IT or related field and/or relevant technical certifications
