Overview:

The Audit Staff Accountant will work closely with Partners, Managers, and clients to facilitate completion of engagements. Individual should be able to perform and direct a broad range of accounting tasks and assist the engagement partner and/or manager in the development of audit strategy, planning, review and interpretation of audit findings. These duties may include (but are not limited to):

Essential Duties:

• Knowledge of auditing, accounting standards and application of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP, GAAS, GAGAS, Uniform Guidance and HUD rules, where applicable).
• Understanding clients' needs and expectations, their business and industry, accounting and control systems, employees, company values and industry-related GAAP and GAAS issues
• Developing an understanding of the firm's audit approach and tools
• Assessing risks and evaluating the client's internal control structure
• Performing substantive tests and tests of internal controls to identify and resolve accounting or reporting issues
• Drafting financial statements under prescribed formats

Qualifications:

• Bachelors Accounting degree
• Minimum of 1-2 years of audit experience in public accounting
• CPA certification or on track, preferred
• Possess strong communication, interpersonal, analytical and research abilities
