We are looking for an experienced visionary to serve as the Chief Medical Officer for RubiconMD. The ideal candidate has strong clinical experience, a robust understanding of the US healthcare landscape, comfort driving decisions in a fast-moving environment, and experience supporting client relationships. You will work directly with the leadership team to help align the company's long-term strategies with the needs of primary care clinicians, supported by our specialists. Your goals will include leading the development of new clinical products and solutions, owning clinical quality programs, supporting growth within strategic customer accounts and serving as the company’s clinical voice in external settings. Responsibilities will include:

• Set and lead the clinical vision, ensuring alignment, oversee and own quality on the platform. Lead the Clinical Operations and Services team, and support our specialist network. 
• Develop the clinical value proposition for RMD's product lines and services. Partner with product, clinical operations, and growth teams to deliver against RMD's goals to build our Virtual Specialty Care offerings.
• Serve as the clinical executive sponsor for sales opportunities, on calls and in meetings with prospective clients
• Support efforts to drive individual client engagement, participating in key client calls
• Serve as a thought leader in external settings (i.e. conferences, webinars, events) representing the organization and our mission to further access to virtual specialty care
• Support our best in class specialist network and partner with the Network Strategy team to continuously improve the value proposition we can offer our panels
• Review and contribute to clinical content, helping to identify and craft user stories to profile
• Lead RMD's clinical organization, determine reporting structures, employment engagement and team development in the long term
• Contribute to shared understanding of how policy changes (eConsult reimbursements at the national and state level, new CMS primary care payment models, etc.) may impact company’s growth opportunities or strategic vision more broadly

What success looks like:

Your role will provide RubiconMD with a leader to own the clinical vision, simultaneously collaborating with client services on account growth and business development to close deals, leveraging your stellar relationship-building and networking skills. You will be charged with providing clinical insight and leadership, while balancing the growth of our specialist networks and overall clinical strategy, and leading our ClinOps team. After 90 days, we will have moved forward with a new clinical product with your guidance; revamped several operational processes; and you will have participated in a minimum of 10 client/prospect calls to share clinical expertise.

Desired skills and experience:

• 15 years of experience serving in a position of medical leadership or in a sales-focused role
• Doctor of Medicine (MD or DO) required; MBA / MPH preferred
• Experience supporting large accounts in partnership with sales and client-facing teams
• Strong understanding of the general US healthcare industry landscape
• Strong communication skills (verbal, written, and presentation)
• Previous experience working at a start-up or in an entrepreneurial environment preferred
