Rubicon Contractors is Hiring an Irrigation Technician Near Centerville, UT

Irrigation Technician is responsible for the following:

  • Inspecting and loading equipment for the day’s work.
  • Driving safely to the client’s location.
  • Testing the soil and vegetation to determine irrigation needs.
  • Mapping out areas for irrigation installation.
  • Digging trenches and installing pipes and lines.
  • Installing pumps and electrical timers.
  • Testing the irrigation system with the aid of computer software.
  • Conducting routine maintenance checks.
  • Troubleshooting and replacing faulty parts and offering upgrades to existing systems.
  • Completing progress reports and associated information with technology.

Irrigation Technician Requirements:

  • 1-2 years or more in irrigation system industry.
  • Proven work experience as an Irrigation Technician.
  • Knowledge of irrigation and electrical timer systems.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Knowledge of plumbing is preferable.
  • Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Ability to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects 100lbs.
  • Knowledge of soil, vegetation and watering duration during the day or night.

Working Conditions and Physical Effort

  • Work involves considerable exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, unpleasant odors, and/or loud noises.
  • Extensive physical activity. Requires strenuous physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects over 50 pounds.
  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
  • Culture working with Visa workers from Central and South America
  • Communicating productivity daily (flat rate management style)
  • Owning your own tools to be able to perform all work required.
  • Valid drivers’ license and able to pass medical card requirements of commercial vehicles.
  • Willing to work snow removal hours during winter season when snowing.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $25.00 per hour
