Job Title: HR Generalist

Location(s): Oak Ridge, TN

Hiring Range: $50,000.00 – $60,000.00/yr. (Depending on education, experience, and location)

The anticipated starting salary pay range of $50k - $60k/year is based on minimum requirements for this position. Minimum requirements are a bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and zero years of relevant experience. The offered salary may be more depending upon additional education, training, and experience of the selected applicant.

RSI EnTech, LLC is recruiting for a HR Generalist to provide support for all LMS-HR recruiting and HR management needs. Serve as a liaison between the government contract and the corporate office to build relationships that will enhance the functionality of the HR department. The HR Generalist performs related duties at the professional level and may carry out responsibilities in some or all of the following functional areas: recruiting, interviewing, onboarding, new-hire orientations, employee relations, performance management, and investigations

This position is required to travel less than 10% of the time.

Primary responsibilities and essential functions:

  • Administers various human resource plans and procedures for all organization personnel; assists in the development and implementation of personnel policies and procedures; prepares and maintains the employee handbook and the policies and procedures manual.
  • Participates in developing department goals, objectives, and systems.
  • Helps to administer any compensation programs.
  • Performs benefits administration, including claims resolution, change reporting, approving invoices for payment and communicating benefits information to employees.
  • Conducts recruitment effort for all exempt and nonexempt personnel, students, and temporary employees; conducts new employee orientations; writes and places advertisements; and creates and posts job openings.
  • Handles employee relations counseling and exit interviewing. Maintains reports from exit interviewing.
  • Participates in administrative staff meetings and attends other meetings and seminars.
  • Maintains company organization charts and company employee engagement platform by assisting with Awards, Wellness and Job Notifications.
  • Assists in evaluation of reports, decisions, and results of department in relation to established goals.
  • Recommends new approaches, policies, and procedures to continually improve efficiency of the department and services performed.
  • Maintains human resource information system records and compiles reports from the database.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment and benefits laws and regulations.
  • Other Duties as assigned.

  • Interviewing skills - Plans and executes a detailed process to uncover needed information about candidates when interviewing (not a primary task, but may be asked to assist recruiting)
  • Conflict resolution/negotiating skills – Resolves differences impartially through “win-win” solutions.
  • Human resource functional knowledge – Uses knowledge of Human Resources systems (e.g., staffing, career development, compensation) and accesses Subject Matter Experts to support the development of Human resources programs and processes.
  • Communication - Excellent oral, written and interpersonal skills to effectively deal with all levels of personnel.
  • Problem resolution – Proven ability to analyze problems and solve them creatively.
  • Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality and work with highly sensitive data and information.
  • Travel may be required to attend work related meetings and training sessions.
  • Able to maintain a regular work schedule to meet the needs of the business.
  • Required to read and follow all company policies and procedures.
  • Experience with onboarding, new hire orientation, employee relations, investigations, interviewing, performance management, familiar with benefit programs
  • BA/BS (experience in lieu of education will be considered)

Technical knowledge, certifications/licenses, and software proficiency required:

  • Federal, State, Local employment laws
  • Microsoft Office
  • Valid driver’s license.

Desirable qualifications, experience, or proficiencies of the ideal candidate:

  • Ability to adapt to new systems and/or processes. Willingness to ask questions and challenge team members to arrive at a consensus. Comfortable with engaging virtually.
  • HRIS experience is beneficial.
  • 5 or more years of relevant experience

Required Education and Years of Experience:

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Human Resources, Psychology, or related field.

Experience in lieu of education will be considered.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

The employee exerts up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or a negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to touch or feel, and reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and distance vision. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet to moderate.
