The position: As Insurance Manager, you will be responsible for administering the company’s insurance management processes and ancillary services under the risk departments purview. Specific areas of focus will include 3rd party certificate tracking, master insurance program management including quoting, coordinating lender needs, invoicing, and policy management. The Insurance Manager will work in tandem with the VP of Risk to solicit insurance for clients, communicate our program to clients and assist with policy. The Insurance Manager will also assist the Risk Manager team with incident reporting and claims management when needed. The Insurance Manager position is in the Austin, TX Corporate Office and is a full-time, permanent, exempt position in the Risk Management Department. 

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all areas of insurance management, including compliance, sales, documentation, policy management, and broker relations
  • Serve as a liaison for RPM Insurance programs and partner with all RPM providers partners to ensure efficient handling of any/all insurance needs. Build, maintain and manage relationships with clients and insurance partners, outside legal counsel, and other insurance related parties
  • Monitor compliance with the RPM Renter’s Insurance Platforms: RPM Insurance Services LLC, Resident Legal Liability, and Security Deposit Premium
  • Assist the Risk Manager team with identifying and follow through on all opportunities for subrogation
  • Oversee the administrative aspects associated with all insurance related matters
  • Keep the company apprised of insurance and compliance related updates
  • Ensure all insurance inquiries are responded to quickly (within 24 hours or Monday if over the weekend)
  • Escalate concerns or questions to appropriate RPM executives and/or principals
  • Assist in implementation and ongoing maintenance and enhancement of the RMIS system
  • Partner with insurance providers, brokers, and vendors to facilitate any insurance related needs
  • Assess and monitor Fair Housing, reasonable accommodations and other compliance-related policies within the Company
  • Assist VP, Risk Management with all policy renewals, including the evaluation and implementation of strategic captive programs
  • Responsible for assisting with administration of company safety programs, and innovating policies, programs and processes to improve insurance, safety performance and culture
  • Assist with risk identification, helps develops and implements mitigation strategies and safety programs to control losses arising from fire, water, liability, life safety and worker exposures
  • Analyze, trend and report insurance program penetration, including explanation of deals lost
  • Responsible for ensuring regulatory compliance including staying abreast of regulatory changes and implementing programs to ensure and track compliance
  • Assist with development, implement, and train Emergency Operations Procedures and Severe Weather protocols including monitoring severe weather patterns and alerting stakeholders of catastrophic weather conditions
  • Do a great job of managing internal and external communications related RPM insurance programs
  • Effectively collaborate with other departments
  • Represents RPM Living in a professional manner at all times. Consistently maintains a professional courteous attitude when dealing with residents, coworkers and the general public
  • Required to possess reliable means of transportation to be used in the course of daily activities
  • Performs other duties as necessary

Qualifications

  • Associates or Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent experience.
  • Multifamily or legal experience preferred
  • Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe, Yardi
