With a 50K population the area still remains peaceful and quaint while having several stores for retail shopping, medical facilities and much more.
Summary:
The Professional Development Coordinator is a competent professional nurse who possesses knowledge and skills in the teaching learning process.
Under the direction of the Director of Education and Patient Experience, and in collaboration with the Vice President of Patient Care Services (PCS), the Professional Development Coordinator designs, organizes, implements, and evaluates educational programs, orientations, continuing education, and in-services that facilitate the professional growth, skill development, competency, and attainment of standards of care for direct care providers.
The coordinator role includes that of resource person, consultant, collaborator, facilitator-instructor, role model, and evaluator.
Responsibilities:
-Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, complying at all times with the policies and procedures of the Medical Center and demonstrates a commitment to the key values of Service to the Poor, Reverence, Integrity, Wisdom, Creativity and Dedication.
-Central Nursing Orientation Facilitator. Collaborates with Patient Care Services (PCS) to provide an organized central approach to introduce new direct care providers to general policies, procedures, service standards, and quality initiatives. Role models organization’s philosophy. Administrator of Mosby’s Nursing Skills online education. Assigns new hires skills according to role.
-Nursing Continuing Education Facilitator. Collaborates with PCS and the Director of Education, to provide prioritized continuing education in-services/programs on various house wide topics or equipment, to meet performance improvement and organizational goals.
-Education Department Team Member. Collaborates with the Director of Education and Patient Experience and others to facilitate Onboarding, Mandatory Updates, and Basic Life Support. Participates in identified department improvements.
-Nursing Education Advisory Committee Co-Chair. Co-facilitates NEAC meetings to identify education needs of the nursing division, makes recommendations to the nursing management group, and collaboratively designs programs to meet those needs. Fosters professional nursing development in members and others within the division of nursing. Committee responsibilities are identified in the policy “Nursing Education Advisory Committee Statement of Purpose”.
-E.A.S.Y. Assessment Facilitator Chair. Coordinates the E.A.S.Y. Assessment program, mentors facilitators to become department or population-specific educators. Refer to E.A.S.Y. Assessment program overview for more details.
-Various Committee Participant. Resides as an active member of Nursing Standards and Practice, Patient Quality Improvement, and other appointed committees. Researches and develops programs and policies as assigned. Collaborates with PCS to create relevant offerings to address learning or improvement needs.
-Consultant/Resource Person. Consults and serves as a resource person for staff and directors, on various educational programs and organizational policies. Collects and/or distributes educational information to appropriate departments.
-Professional Self Development. Gathers information from professional nursing development training resources and attends programs, conferences or courses which enhance the professional development of the position
Education/Requirements:
Must be a BSN with a minimum of 3-5 years experience in an acute care setting with evidence of leadership ability.
Master’s degree in Education or Nursing preferred.
BLS instructor preferred.
Can verify active participation in the planning, implementing and evaluation of learning activities based on adult education principles.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Possesses well developed problem solving skills.
Will be able to demonstrate individual and group interpersonal skills and will be able to express thoughts and ideas clearly and concisely both verbally and in writing.
Must be able to organize and prioritize time.
Additional Info:
The position reports to the Director of Education and Patient Experience.
This position is has a range that starts at $32hr and goes up depending on experience and credentials.
They also offer a full benefit package and will assist with relocation.
