Job Summary:

The Quality Supervisor will work on a variety of manufacturing programs in the Themed Entertainment Industry supporting Ride and Show systems. The Quality Supervisor responsible for execution of customer quality requirements for products and services produced by Roush Entertainment Services (RES). This includes ensuring customer quality documentation requirements are understood and delivered to the Customer with each program deliverable.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Supplier Development

  • Participate in supplier selection and sourcing decisions to ensure quality aspects are considered.
  • Train suppliers on customer quality requirements and documentation required for each program.
  • Act as company liaison between customers and suppliers to resolve specific quality problems
  • Plan and develop strategies to improve existing supplier performance through development/ training.
  • Ensure positive working relationships are maintained with suppliers.

Quality Requirements

  • Revies customer and engineering requirements to understand quality specifications and standards for incoming materials, components and finished products ensuring compliance and quality products
    • Provides input to content of Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) plans developed by Roush Engineering
    • Responsible for delivering quality documentation for each program deliverable
  • Work on the production floor with assembly personnel to perform in-process quality checks and audits as identified and required in build documentation. Ensure all build documentation is completed in compliance with customer requirements.
    • Investigate and troubleshoot product or production issues. Develop corrective actions, solutions and improvements
  • Conduct Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) according to documentation provided by the Customer or Engineering with assembly and engineering support
  • Manage the Material Review Board (MRB) process for assigned programs and participate in regular reviews of non-conforming materials and disposition according to department procedures
    • Document required corrective actions with Quality Defect Notices (QDN)
    • Identify key supplier capability issues and implement improvement plans
  • Support department Quality System and follow any procedures or work instructions provided for assigned projects

Customer Satisfaction

  • Reviews customer quality complaints and initiates corrective action to expedite resolution and satisfy our customers. Represent RES Quality to our Customers.
  • Monitor and strive to improve quality performance throughout our facilities

Management

  • He/she is responsible for managing all human resource needs of his/her team including training personnel in all RES processes and procedures, professional development, annual performance reviews and participation in recruitment, as required
  • Administration of the RES measuring equipment system and calibration of such equipment

Education and Experience (required):

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Manufacturing/Engineering/Quality discipline or equivalent combination of education and work experience
  • 5 years of experience in a Quality role, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Able to read and interpret 2D drawings, including Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and inspection reports

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities (required):

  • Must be a self-starter, exhibit excellent organizational, problem solving and analytical skills, high standards with attention to detail and strong time management skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Proficient in MS applications (i.e., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experienced in quality management methods, ISO 9001 quality system requirements and auditing.
  • Understanding of machining and inspection processes

Education and Experience (preferred):

  •  American Society of Quality (ASQ) Certification

Skills, Knowledge and Abilities (preferred):

  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes including machining, welding assembly and composites
  • Knowledge of basic quality tools such as: 7D/8D, 5 Whys, Pareto Charts, Failure Mode and Effects Analysis, Control Plans, Process Flow Diagrams, Tree Diagrams, Cause and Effect Diagrams (Fishbone), Control Charts, Check Sheets and Scatter Diagrams
