Job Description

The Senior Network Engineer is a senior level role, responsible for analyzing, designing, installing, configuring, maintaining and repairing of network infrastructure and related components. Network Engineers perform a wide variety of evaluation, maintenance, installation and training tasks to ensure the computer network performance meets company and user satisfaction. Network Engineers also provide direction, information, and recommendations regarding network configurations and installations.

• Expert knowledge in understanding of the basics behind the internet and its workings (LAN/WAN, DNS, Security, IP Routing, HTTP/HTTPS, VPN, etc.)
• Expert ability to configure and maintain Meraki Switches & Access Points, Versa SDWAN, Cisco & Dell Data Center Networking, Palo Alto Firewalls, VPN Concentrators, and NSX Load Balancers for access to vital business applications.
• Expert ability to design, configure, and maintain complex routing and switching environments.
• Expert ability to design, configure, and maintain complex wireless networking that supports open or secured access and the ability to support voice and video applications.
• Coordinate physical premise cabling solutions with facilities and service providers.
• Work with carriers to establish, upgrade, maintain and troubleshoot external connectivity including DIA, ENS, MPLS, IPSEC, SIP, etc.
• In charge of designing multi-server environments including IP address schemes, IPAM, DHCP, DNS, EtherChannel (Bonding), etc.
• Configure and install client and server network software for upgrading and maintaining network and telecommunication systems.
• Expert ability to maintain multi-site network operations, software applications, operating systems and regular maintenance within both private and public facilities.
• Respond to support requests and work closely with Telecom, Systems, Desktop, and Security Engineers to meet SLAs and ensure accurate escalation of issues resulting from software, hardware, phone, security, or operational failures.
• Assist Telecom Engineers with operations as needed.
• Assist business partners and IT leaders with the collection and interpretation of key performance metrics to identify trends that aid in future decisions.
• Support IT projects including meeting milestones and status reports.
• Develop relationships with vendors, partners, and service providers.
• Mentor fellow Network Engineers and other Infrastructure team members.

Qualifications

Minimum requirements:

• High School Diplomaa or equivalent
• 5 years
• Ability to gather, interpret and analyze complex data; strong oral and written communications skills including presentation skills; strong collaboration and relationship building skills; ability to manage cross-functional projects, as demonstrated by previous experience coordinating deadlines and deliverables with multiple stakeholders; advanced MS Office skills.

Preferred qualifications:

• Master's degree in technical or management field
• CCNP or CCIE Enterprise, or equivalent
• 7 years
• Demonstrated understanding of core competencies of companion infrastructure domains: Wireless, Switching, Routing, Firewall, Server, and any others as it relates to solutions and integrations. Knowledge of packet tagging for voice/video QoS and troubleshooting of voice quality issues.
