POSITION SUMMARY

The Data Analyst will work as a member of the Customer Service department by extracting, analyzing, and reporting on data from various systems. Individual will use raw data to help make service decisions by identifying various facts and trends.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

The scope and duties of a given position may change or be temporarily altered based on the business needs of Rosenbauer.

1. Assesses quality, meaning and overall value of data using statistical techniques.
2. Develops and implements data analyses, data collection systems, and other strategies that will optimize the overall efficiency and quality of the companys products and/or services.
3. Utilizes raw data to identify, research, analyze, and interpret trends or patterns within a market, geographic footprint, component, chassis or other analysis links.
4. Interacts with key departments like Production, Engineering, and Supply Chain to aid in problem solving and finding root causes.
5. Understands the data flow and business processes captured in multiple systems and is able to merge them for reporting.
6. Builds reports/ dashboards using Power BI.
7. Presents reports and high-level findings to various staff and Senior Leadership.
8. Ability to handle multiple projects and prioritize new requests as they are presented.
9. Provides back up to the Government Compliance Manager.
10. Proactively improves the quality of company reporting.
11. Supports CRM Data Quality through analytical skills.
12. Performs other duties and responsibilities as required by management to meet the needs of the company.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Education:

• Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Business, Accounting, Information Management, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.

Preferred Education:

• None.

Required Experience:

• Experience using reporting packages, databases (SQL based ERP System- Sage 500), and programming.

Preferred Experience:

• Previous experience working as a data analyst or business data analyst.
• Experience using Power BI and Microsoft Dynamics.

Language Skills:

• Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to write simple correspondence, effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills:

• Must be able to input mathematical equations into Excel to show information like interest, depreciation, and statistical information like regression models.

Reasoning Ability:

• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
• Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral diagram or schedule form.

Computer Skills:

• Ability to perform at an advanced level in Microsoft Suite, especially Excel and Access.

Decision Making:

• Responsibilities are guided by a set of guidelines that provide methods for problem solving.
• Decisions are made within these guidelines initially, and a supervisor is informed afterwards.
• Supervisor regularly reviews the activities to determine if the guidelines have been followed.

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position works in an office environment. It is a quiet environment that is temperature controlled, ventilated, and well-lit. Working Conditions will include a desk space where most of the shift will be spent, and it provides open space to work in. This office space is routinely cleaned by Rosenbauer Cleaning Services. It has access to all welfare facilities. This position requires traveling to different departments, so working conditions vary when out of the office. This can cause exposure to extreme cold or heat depending on the season. Working conditions may include humidity, wet floors, and loud noises. Most of the hazards come from machines but following proper procedures should minimize risk. There is also sometimes dust and airborne particles due to the machines being used in all of the different shops.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

This position requires sitting for an extended period of time with minimal standing or walking. Some tasks may require reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. During shifts, the use of hands and fingers may exceed 60 minutes, while the use of feet and legs can range from 30 to 60 minutes. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, ability to adjust focus, and good depth perception. This position may also require the use of knees, back, shoulders, and arms for up to 15 minutes at a time. Some tasks may include lifting boxes that may weigh between 25 and 50 pounds, and all positions require the ability to lift 50 pounds.
