Position Reports to: Manager; Shelter Operations Manager

Position Type: Seasonal; Hourly. Pays $15 per hour.

Position Summary

Room at the Inn, Columbia's emergency cold weather homeless shelter, has immediate openings for part time seasonal positions.

Mornings and evenings available. Evenings work 6 to 10 PM and help with guest check in and helping serve dinner. Mornings work 5 to 9 AM and help serve breakfast and prepare shelter for that night's use. Positions start immediately and last until the shelter closes for the season in early April. Great second job to save money for a summer vacation while serving the community.

Position Qualifications

Be comfortable working with a variety of individuals.

Have good communication skills.

Additionally, the ideal candidate will:

Be respectful of clients, volunteers and staff.

Have a work history of on-time and reliable employment.

Be willing to perform a variety of tasks.

Pay: From $15.00 per hour

• 4 hour shift
• Day shift
• Evening shift
• Weekend availability

COVID-19 considerations:
All Shelter clients will be required to wear a mask; CDC guidance for homeless shelters will be followed. Vaccinations will be offered to all clients and staff, but are not required for staying or working at the Shelter.
