Responsibilities

The role of the Training and Development Specialist is actively participate in projects focused on aligning learning and development solutions with business priorities. 

  • Participate in setting the strategic and tactical plan for learning and development and aligned initiatives. 
  • Facilitate training and on-boarding for newly hiring employees and act as culture ambassador to support a positive experience. 
  • Coordinate pre and post training work for all training programs.
  • Communicate training updates to applicable audiences as required.
  • Assist stakeholders within the organization with training programs as needed.
  • Monitor, update, and maintain training tools and materials.
  • Maintain the Learning Management System (LMS) including student file maintenance, current courses, etc.
  • Assist with the creation and maintenance of all training programs, materials and assets.
  • Facilitate the evaluation of training programs through various evaluation methods including distribution and collection of training evaluation forms through various media outlets.
  • Complete client deliverables such as rosters and learning completion reports and communicate with managers.
  • Coordinate individual and group training events as needed. 
  • Research training topics and training courses.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  •  Bachelor’s degree Human Resources, Training and Development or Business Administration preferred
  • 5 years of experience working in a training and development role.
  • Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, One Note, Outlook, Power Point, and Adobe Acrobat
  • Exceptional communication skills and ability to interact with wide range of people.
  • Must be organized, detail oriented and have good time management skills.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, understanding that your scheduled workdays may vary according to staffing and property/department needs.
  • Entrepreneurial ownership mindset –makes smart decisions for business, puts clients and teammates first, collaborative, inquisitive, self-motivated, and operates on trust (not fear).
  • High integrity – trusted, direct, truthful. Embodies confidence and admits mistakes.

  • Ability to perform the physical functions of the position, which may include, but are not limited to: ability to walk up to 2 flights of stairs and lift 20 pounds.
