About the Position:
Our Program Managers will drive results for our clients by providing program planning and project management support. Specific responsibilities may include the following:
  • Perform business management and analytical functions to support the development, sustainment, and implementation of program and business functions supporting short-term and long-term planning, analyses, methodologies, and controls
  • Provide project management support including managing client project tasks and/or small project teams to complete resource-planning spreadsheets, working with senior-level consultants to refine project plans, managing contract timelines and requirements, performing quality control reviews on client deliverables, and drafting and submitting status reports to clients
  • Work with clients to develop action plans that translate vision, mission, and goals into initiatives that can be executed as projects or programs
  • Identify the costs, milestones, assumptions, dependencies, and risks of programs
  • Organize integrated product teams and communicate with key stakeholders, documenting all discussions and decision points
  • Guide project work through creative and diligent project planning, crafting project approaches, assigning roles and responsibilities, monitoring success, managing risks, and discussing needs and options with clients
  • Write, prepare, and deliver feedback for program/project management functions (e.g., act/track/plan), processes, practices, and templates
In addition to consulting work, Rockwood provides a unique experience where our team members also contribute to the growth of the business. For example, Rockwood Program Managers may:
  • Support business development activities to help Rockwood win new work
  • Support development of Rockwood’s social media and marketing materials to improve the Rockwood brand
  • Develop and deliver Rockwood’s internal training classes to grow the Rockwood capabilities
  • Own one of Rockwood’s consulting methodologies and provide coaching and mentoring to the Rockwood team (as the resident Rockwood Subject Matter Expert)
  • Support recruitment activities to attract, evaluate, and bring onboard the best talent
What You Must Have to Be a Program Manager :
  • Program management experience
  • Bachelor's degree
  • 3-10 years of relevant work experience
  • Proficiency in word processing, Excel, presentation creation tools, and internet research tools

  • Innate ability to proactively and creatively problem-solve
  • Client/customer focus with outstanding organizational skills and attention-to-detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to organize information into well-written clear messages and compelling documents
  • Ability to collaboratively brainstorm and work with clients and Rockwood team while also having the ability to work independently from a home office, client site, and Rockwood office as required
What We Prefer in Program Managers :
  • Knowledge and application of the product development lifecycle process from initiation to deployment
  • Maintenance of project management templates and processes
  • Development and maintenance of project management-related documents (e.g., risk register, project management plan, project charter, project master schedule)
  • Present information in a clear and concise manner (e.g., project status, lessons learned)
  • Application of project management and program management methodologies (e.g., Agile, Waterfall)
  • Experience with Microsoft Project and ServiceNow
  • Experience writing, preparing, and delivering feedback for program and project management functions (e.g., act/track/plan), processes, practices, and templates
  • Support of Program Management Office or Program Executive Offices
