POSITION DESCRIPTION:

A Warehouse Clerk keeps track of inventory, overseeing shipments and deliveries, and keeping the warehouse organized. In addition to the organizational skills and physical strength required to manage and store inventory, the warehouse clerk job description also requires the ability to manage any administrative and clerical details necessary to keep the warehouse running smoothly.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND PERFORMANCE MEASURES

Completes sales by entering purchased items into sales/inventory system; obtaining payment; adding purchase to credit account; issuing sales receipts.

• Tracks and logs all product inventory, ensuring there are no discrepancies or losses.
• Accepts deliveries of company products and stores them accordingly.
• Orders and restocks new supplies.
• Packs and ships orders for delivery.
• Inspects all orders being received and shipped, checking for damage, defective parts, and missing items.
• Reports and returns damaged product.
• Operates forklift or other machinery required for transporting large orders and heavy products.
• Addresses and resolves any complaints about products, shipping speeds, or damaged items.
• Keeps warehouse area clean and organized.
• Reports to warehouse supervisor or management to alert them of any issues with shipping or receiving..

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• High School Diploma or equivalent
• One (1) to three (3) years of experience in the warehouse/shipping and receiving industry
• Clean driving record , will be operating Forklifts.

• Possesses strong organizational skills.
• Is detail-oriented and capable of noticing small errors on orders or defective aspects of products.
• Maintains physical stamina and strength required to move heavy equipment and product weighing up to 100 pounds.
• Works well with others.
• Exhibits strong communication skills, essential for working with other employees and with customers.
• Demonstrates knowledge of Windows Operating Systems, and the ability to fix any unexpected glitches with these systems.
• Demonstrates the alertness and physical dexterity required to operate heavy machinery.
  Must be capable of managing time effectively and multi-tasking as necessary.
• Demonstrates familiarity with all warehouse safety precautions and is able to observe these at all times.

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS

Duties are performed throughout the inside and outside of the building(s). Employee is exposed to dirt, dust, heat, cold, noise and vibration, fumes and odors, wetness, and humidity, and sometimes darkness. Employee is required to stand, walk, kneel, squat, crawl, bend, and twist. Employee may have to climb and/or lift up to and over 100 pounds frequently. Visual requirements are constant. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and the ability to adjust focus. Due to the nature of the environment, employee is exposed to potential mechanical, chemical, electrical and fire hazards on a regular basis.
