Robert Half is Hiring a Senior Project Financial Analyst Near PORTLAND, OR

Robert Half is seeking a candidate with a thorough understanding of finance and strong communication skills for a Project Financial Analyst role. Does working for a compelling firm with an expanding team interests you? In this role, you will be conducting financial modeling on various financial products as well as measuring, analyzing, and forecasting performance in conjunction with operating plans, advising management on the allocation of resources to best accomplish objectives, and preparing reports for management. This Financial Analyst role, which is a permanent employment opportunity, is located in the Portland, Oregon. A dynamic team has an opening for a business partner skilled in performance reporting, and expense management to join their ranks.

What you get to do every day

A project finance analyst is responsible for analyzing the financial needs and reports of an organization's project management system. Project finance analysts review project terms and expense forecasting and identify strategies to minimize financial loss. A project financial analyst typically has a wide range of responsibilities, which can include:

  • Analyze and process project start up requests which may include fielding questions and making recommendations for optimal project setup and structure.
  • Establish and maintain open communication about project finance with Project Managers and team.
  • Collaborate with Project Managers to process monthly project billing, revenue recognition, and reporting.
  • Analyze project financial health, variance, and root cause, and communicate analysis to Project Management.
  • Compile and analyze special reporting as requested.
  • Answer questions and communicate complex project financial topics with stakeholders.
  • Become subject matter expert on project financial concepts.
  • Make suggestions on process improvements and provide documentation and assistance with implementation of changes.
  • Review and confirm contract billing terms, fees, and other accounting related issues to support the contract review process.
  • Provide uniform recording and reporting on project related expenses.
  • Support Project Managers with sub consultant invoice review, approval, and processing. 
Requirements
  • Bachelors or equivalent experience
  • Accounting knowledge/background
  • Project Finance experience in construction or engineering
  • Strong Excel 
  • Deltek required
