Robert Half is Hiring a Full Charge Bookkeeper Near LONG ISLAND CITY, NY
Our client in the Construction industry is searching for a Full Charge Bookkeeper to join their company. The Full Charge Bookkeeper will control payroll, bank reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, cash flow, financial statement preparation, audit, and full cycle A/P. The Full Charge Bookkeeper will also supervise the clerical staff. If you are a self-driven and organized accounting professional who thrives under tight deadlines with minimal supervision this could be the Bookkeeper role for you! This permanent employment opportunity is based in the Long Island City, New York area.
What you get to do every single day
- Arrange monthly reconciliations, financial statements and all supporting documents
- Summarize business license and gross receipts
- Oversee monthly accounting close
- Prepare subcontractor 1099's, and any other IRS year-end requirement
- Catalog sales tax records and create and file quarterly payments
- Generate cash account journal entries including loans, taxes, bank fees, 401(k) deductions, etc.
- Register budget transfers
- Proficient in credit card management and reconciliation
- Supply cash flow projections, as needed
- Lead Accounts Receivable
- Accounts Payable
- Supplementary assignments when necessary

Requirements- Demonstrated ability to implement solutions, strong analytical and communication skills as well
- Construction Accounting experience desired
- Ability to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent, and to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail are a must
- Great attention to detail
- 2 years of related experience in construction or civil engineering required
- Prior accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred
- BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business-related field preferred
- Self-starter with efficient time management and organizational skills
- Commitment and abilities to meet critical business deadlines
