In this role, you will handle all general accounting and bookkeeping functions including the preparation of financial statements; and establishing and maintaining the accounting principles, practices, procedures, and initiatives of the business. This short-term contract to full time Full Charge Bookkeeper opportunity is based in Lewisville, Texas.

Your responsibilities

- Preserving historical records through accurate filing of documents

- Producing the trial balance and financial statements, including, but not limited to, balance sheet and statements of income and of cash flows

- Following federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying requirements, implementing adherence to requirements, filing reports, and advising management on needed actions

- Handling processing tasks for accounts payable and accounts receivable, including collections

- Completing monthly, quarterly, and year end close, on time and in an accurate manner

- Following progress of fixed assets to prepare depreciation schedules

- Completing bank and general ledger reconciliations; processing payroll

- Overseeing accounting clerks and entry-level bookkeepers

- Can work independently with minimal supervision

- Strong organization skills with a sense of urgency and capable of prioritizing multiple tasks

- Ability to multitask and communicate well with individuals of all backgrounds

- Background in payroll preferred

- Proficient in accrual and cash basis of accounting

- High school diploma or similar accreditation, and an Associates of Arts degree or higher in Accounting or Business recommended

- Demonstrated flexibility to adapt to changes in procedures

- 3 or more years of experience in the bookkeeping field

- General familiarity with construction

- Comprehensive knowledge of QuickBooks

- Experience with Sales Tax

- Proven knowledge of Monthly Sales Tax

- Quality experience with construction

- Paychex Payroll experience

- Well-founded grasp of Invoice

- Knowledge of Full Cycle Payroll

- Practical knowledge of Construction Accounting

- Payroll experience preferred

- Proficient at analyzing financial data and promptly creating accurate reports

- Proficiency with Excel and Peachtree
