JOB REQUISITION Manager Automation Engineering LOCATION SAN RAMON JOB DESCRIPTION Robert Half is looking for a Manager of Automation Engineering to join its Architecture and Engineering team. The individual will lead a team of DevOps engineers responsible for implementing process automation and best practices. We are looking for an experienced candidate with experience leading teams, developing system integrations, and CI/CD. Responsibilities: The Manager of Automation Engineering will lead a team of engineers in working on process automation and system integrations. The role is a technical manager, and they will be responsible for solution architecture as well as team mentorship. Communicate in an effective manner that promotes healthy relationships with both internal and external team members Advise and coordinate the design, development, testing and release of cloud infrastructure for a broad development portfolio of both established and mature products, as well as new and emerging products Work directly with Architecture team members to define the services/product roadmap, negotiate technical needs vs. new features, estimate the work, and deliver on it Lead Agile and Sprint activities for development teams, in partnership with scrum masters, to deliver enterprise-grade applications/products/services in line with business and technical requirements; Maintain DevOps boards using Agile/Scrum; oversee each aspect of the software development process Hold development teams to high standards in writing quality scalable and supportable code, complete with appropriate peer review, validation, documentation, and operationalization aspects in a CI/CD environment; mentor development team members to ensure delivered solutions adhere to the software architecture strategy coding standards and established organizational policies and procedures Maintain knowledge and awareness of industry trends within development, data analytics, cloud computing, virtualization, containerization, hosted services, multi-tenant cloud infrastructures, and data storage systems; contribute to software architectural discussions, influencing decisions, and collaborating with peers to maintain consistency across the organization Qualifications: Bachelors Degree in IT-related field or equivalent years of experience Minimum five years of experience in Software Development, Cloud Engineering and/or Software Architecture, with two years of experience leading development and/or engineering teams working on Azure or AWS; Experience with cloud providers, both Azure and AWS preferred Demonstrated knowledge and experience in DevOps, CI/CD, agile methodologies, and cloud services using Azure DevOps and Azure Pipeline and ability to Script with PowerShell, Bash, and/or Python. Experience leading teams in the adoption and use of Agile methods and techniques, including Scrum and Kanban Excellent problem-solving skills, including the ability to troubleshoot and analyze code and infrastructure related issues A passion for technology & a thirst for knowledge, with an openness to learning new and emerging DevOps and cloud technologies At Robert Half, there’s more to us than what we do.
