JOB REQUISITION Financial Analyst II LOCATION SAN RAMON JOB DESCRIPTION As a Financial Analyst II your specific responsibilities will include: Assist in designing the budget model to facilitate collection of field budgets, yearly expenses and capital budgets from the Field and Corporate Services departments. Assist with the testing, loading and balancing the budget models prior to releasing them to the Field and the Corporate Service departments. Assist with developing, documenting and administering the training for the overall yearly process and the use of Budget Tools and Models to the Field and Corporate Services departments. Provide relevant information to the Field and Corporate Service departments to ensure that they have a proper understanding of their expenses. Review and analyze the budgets submitted by the departments for accuracy and reasonableness. Provide the budget materials in specified formats to the senior management for the budget review meetings. Provide monthly and year-to-date actual to budget data analysis for senior managers and Corporate Service departments. Assist the departments in accurately recording the expenses through accruals and adjustments by providing them information and identifying and resolving issues (e.g. vendor billing issues). Develop standard bill and cost rates for consulting entity (including North America and International). Develop annual standard burden rates and transfer pricing rates for Staffing entities. Identify, research, and explain variance drivers in standard cost and standard burden rates. Collaborate with business partners to develop thorough understanding of cost components and develop improved methodologies to accurately project cost. Perform contribution margin and gross margin analysis on impact of cost structure changes. Prepare and ensure timely and accurate distribution of semi-monthly management reports such as the KPI (Key Performance Indicators), revenue reporting and DSO (Daily Sales Outstanding). Identify and research unusual variances utilizing information systems and/or collaborate with business partners. Reconcile variances between reporting and GL. Investigate and follow-up on questions initiated by the field (US and IZ). Identify opportunities to streamline current processes and leverage information systems to research and build reports. Collaborate with the Sr. Accounting Analyst & Managers in developing the annual or semi-annual reserve rate analysis. Analyze the impact of statutory or procedural changes on reserves and standard burden rates. Gather, interpret, and evaluate financial information. Manage assigned month-end close responsibilities, ensuring completeness of accruals/reserves and booking journal entries. Research unusual trends and provide variance explanations. Reconcile reporting variances to G/L. Assist with quarterly audit requests/questions. Support the team in SOX review. Perform adhoc analysis as needed and present the findings to the senior management. Identify opportunities for automation and process improvement, manage and participate in new system implementations/upgrades, including development of business requirements and validations and testing of solutions. Qualifications: BS in Accounting or Finance or equivalent experience. 5 years’ of business/accounting/financial analysis experience. Experience with different financial analysis and/or financial reporting formats. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, advance skills in Excel. Knowledge of PeopleSoft, Hyperion Essbase, Interactive Reporting (Brio), and/or Access would be a plus. A self-motivated person with strong analytic and communication skills. Ability to manage multiple projects and responsibilities. Ability to grasp new concepts quickly. Possess strong customer service orientation. At Robert Half, there’s more to us than what we do.
