Robert Half International Inc. is Hiring a Remote Business Intelligence Analyst IV

Robert Half is seeking a Business Intelligence Analyst IV to understand, gather, and document the requirements of the Business. BI Analysts are the 1st tier of production support and provide important insights through the production of Management and Operational reports. They also perform reconciliations of the data, research variances, and provide ad-hoc analyses to customers. BI Analysts directly interact with the Business to obtain requirements as they have a solid understanding of the company and financial statements. BI Analysts help the BI Developers understand the business requirements and have the ability to translate customer needs into functional requirements. They test the reporting solutions built by the developers and vet out that the requirements and needs of the Business are being met. BI Analysts also support the BI Developers and BI Data Architects on special projects (e.g. Data Science, Predictive Analytics) and other ad-hoc analyses. Specific responsibilities include: Lead efforts for gathering and documenting very complex requirements related to reporting solutions Act as a Lead liaison between the Business and Developer, and have business and technical expertise to explain required changes Guide efforts for impact analysis of system changes and upgrades, documenting the effects of the changes as well as communicating to the business users impacted Advanced knowledge of the operational and financial systems and very strong business/financial acumen to ensure reports are financially accurate for proper sign off Educates and cross-train analysts on written and verbal summaries, conclusions, and recommendations regarding business requirements Very strong ability to translate customer needs into functional requirements and mentor analysts to produce clear technical documentation to management and business partners Leads user acceptance testing including documentation of bugs/defects, retesting fixes and documenting complex requirements Provides review and guidance of QA test cases and plans, assessing risks Oversees and coordinates implementation of system/report modifications, documenting current and proposed business processes to support development cycle Delivers recommendations that are automated for implementation of solutions, procedures and processes Educates and cross-trains analysts on comprehensive analysis to make recommendations of technical options Collaborates with BI Developers to develop technical process, provide guidance and configurations required to support design solution Demonstrates strong understanding of various BI tools including SQL Manages multiple complex projects with shifting priorities Assist with delegating JIRA's and or requests so that they are handled in a timely manner to ensure project success Lead efforts with cross functional teams on projects for alignment and continuity as well as cross-train and provide guidance to the Business on how to perform testing Very strong communication skills in order to explain clearly the upstream and downstream effects of system changes and upgrades to impacted stakeholders Lead efforts and influence timing for planning development, testing, and deploying new reporting solutions ensuring deployment scheduling is met Lead efforts and provide approval for production support where necessary for daily, weekly, and monthly reporting, data validations, and analyses Presents key data insights and showcase reporting solutions to stakeholders Provides support to BI Developer, BI Data Architect, and BI System Architect for data extraction, mining, and analysis (including special projects such as Data Science) Lead SME for identifying and understanding very complex business trends as well as highlighting specific metrics impacting the trends Responsible for complex ad hoc analyses and researching complex issues, providing customers with resolutions and recommendations Reviews and evaluates business processes, implementing innovative strategies and techniques to improve/optimize operational functions supporting business users Primary point of contact and assist management in prioritization for user support requests, generated through SNOW, the team mailbox, or other support request mechanisms Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in business, Economics, Statistics, Data Analytics, Information Systems, Finance, or equivalent work experience 7 years’ experience in gathering comprehensive business requirements and related documentation and building test plans for system and user acceptance testing 7 years’ experience working with different BI Tools (Workday, Prism, SAP Business Objects, Domo, Cognos etc.) 5 years’ experience in operational or financial reporting with analysis, design, testing and implementation experience with large number of reports and complex reporting environment 5-7 years understanding of ETLs, data flows, semantic models 5-7 years business experience with demonstrated leadership and project management skills for large/complex projects Advanced understanding of Accounting/Finance knowledge, ERP systems, and BI tools Highly skilled in interpreting business requirements & technical specifications; documenting, diagraming, and communicating back to both business and BI Developers High proficiency in standard business applications & Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Word, Visio, and Excel) for documentation and presentation purposes High proficiency in advanced features of analytic tools (Excel, Domo, Cognos, Business Objects, etc.) High proficiency in reading and interpreting SQL; Ability to build and run reports/queries High proficiency in understanding of software development life cycle Certifications in BI tools, Analytics, Data Science, or other applicable area strongly desired (e.g., Major Domo, Workday Developer, etc.) Ability to work independently and demonstrate strong initiative Proficient in communicating functional ideas to BI developers and stakeholders Advanced ability to work as part of a team to achieve a common goal Very high problem-solving and solutioning, particularly where business requirement requires creative solutioning Highly proficient of common financial concepts, metrics, and calculations Ability to make local decisions independently Very high Ability to facilitate, conduct meetings, gather information and present status Very high ability to document business solutions for new processes and gather requirements for new business practices. Adaptability and demonstrate good judgment High level of attention to detail and accuracy Excellent oral and written communication skills The typical salary range for this position is $105,000 to $159,000.
