As a Business Intelligence Analyst II, your specific responsibilities will include: Prepare, validate, and send weekly, semi-monthly, monthly and quarterly management reports to customers. Prepare and support non-standard report and data requests for customers. Provide support for data extracts as required. Research issues and respond to customers with resolutions and recommendations. Responsible for ad hoc analyses. Perform business-to-systems analysis and problem-solving analysis of complex management reporting and business issues. Able to work at a high functional and technical level on all phases of systems analysis. Perform impact analysis and project requirements definition in the report development lifecycle. Translate customer needs into functional requirements. Elicit, analyze, and document business requirements for project proposals including, but not limited to, process and data flows, user interfaces, security, and report requirements. Document current and proposed business process flows. Consider impact to current and future business environments and processes, assessing upstream & downstream effect of system changes or upgrades. Conduct cross-functional meetings to understand and address customers’ needs, define problems as well as appropriate solution requirements, develop specifications, analyze and document business processes, validate test procedures, and train the user community. Observe system functionality and identify opportunities for improvements to business and system processes. Function as subject matter expert on complex projects with shifting priorities; manage multiple projects. Evaluate project requests with customers to determine costs, benefits, and feasibility and help determine project priorities for presentation to management for approval. Work closely with users, analysts and management to deliver requirements on time and within budget. Collaborate with cross-functional teams on projects from the analysis phase through deployment and change management. Cross-train other business analysts and project team members. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Business, MIS or related area required or equivalent experience and education preferred. 3 years’ experience in an operational reporting or business systems environment with a Bachelor's degree; 6 years’ without. 3 years’ of system requirements, design, testing and implementation experience related to ERP or reporting applications. Previous experience working on large/complex projects. Previous user acceptance testing experience required. Consulting firm experience helpful. Working knowledge in operational and management reporting that includes financial measures required. Experience with ERP systems required, PeopleSoft preferred; understanding of accounting helpful. Experience using relational database system, Oracle preferred. Ability to build and run queries required; SQL preferred. Experience in creating reports and analyses using multi-dimensional data a plus. Ability to retrieve and report data using BI tools required. Ability to develop BI reporting solutions is helpful. Proficiency using Microsoft Office applications including advanced functions in Excel and/or Access required. Demonstrates strong initiative. Ability to learn new hardware/software systems independently. Solid understanding of how business units work together. Solid understanding of software development life cycle. Strong customer service and support focus. Excellent oral and written communication skills. High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
