GSES is seeking applications for a dynamic, knowledgeable, innovative 1st grade teacher to ensure that every student develops the enduring knowledge, skills and character to thrive in a changing world.

Glenwood Springs Elementary (GSES) serves a diverse and multilingual student population of 550 PreK- 5th grade students. GSES has partnered with EL Education since the fall of 2013 with a focus on creating exciting classrooms where every student grows in character and academics while contributing to a better world. Classroom teachers at GSES work closely and collaboratively with their team to develop and implement the EL Education model in their classrooms and throughout the school. GSES seeks a positive and proactive individual who can get their hands dirty, work with teams and embrace the "We are Crew, not Passengers" motto.

Required Qualifications:
  • Colorado Teaching License (K-6)
Desired Qualifications:
  • Elementary teaching experience
  • Experience teaching students to learn to read; recent training in the science of reading
  • Experience with experiential education, project-based learning, or other similar models.
  • Experience teaching a diverse population of students.
  • Experience in adventure, outdoor, and/or environmental education settings.
  • Strong background in literacy and mathematics instruction.
  • Bilingual

Pay Range

$50,000 to 71,895 **Based on education and years of experience

**Annual salary noted above is based on an 8 hour day (FTE 1) and full days worked calendar. Any position that is less than a full FTE/8 hours per day or late start will be prorated accordingly.
