Roads To Freedom Center for Independent Living is Hiring a Director of Finance Near Williamsport, PA

POSITION SUMMARY

The primary purpose of the position of the Director of Finance is to provide support to the Roads to Freedom Center for Independent Living (RTFCIL) administration through information analyses such as current profit and loss reports, actual performance vs. budget, etc. for review by various department managers throughout RTFCIL who benefit from the information in making informed business decisions.

The Director of Finance is responsible for assisting the administration in monthly budget reviews, identification of areas for cost reductions, annual budget process, annual and periodic audits, forecasting, and analysis of operations performance.

The Director of Finance will supervise the fiscal team, consisting of the representative payee and billing staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Qualifications

· Associate’s Degree in Business, Accounting or related field.

· 1-2 years of work experience in a nonprofit financial position.

· Detail oriented.

· Must be able to work on multiple tasks with strict deadlines.

· Excellent organizational skills.

· Ability to work independently when necessary.

· Proficiency in computer software, including, but not limited to, financial database management.

· Excellent oral and written communication skills.

· Verbal and written fluency in English.

· Team oriented with proven related experience.

Preferred Qualifications

· Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Accounting or related field.

· 2-3 years of work experience in a nonprofit financial position.

· Experience in independent living and attendant care services and/or assisting persons with disabilities.

· Personal experience in independent living and/or working with persons with disabilities.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES*

Financial Services (75%)

  • Promotes the Independent Living Philosophy.
  • Responsible for the inflows and outflows of cash during the fiscal period.
  • Provides financial reports for internal and external sources.
  • Assists with financial and program audits as needed.
  • Provides fiscal support to Executive Director and Administration.
  • Assists in developing budgets for grants and programs.
  • Monitors organizational spending and ensure that budget overruns do not occur.
  • Maintains accounts payable and accounts receivable files.
  • Serves as liaison for Management and the Board of Directors, including, preparation for and attending Board Finance Committee meetings, providing follow up as needed.
  • Works independently and/or within a team on special nonrecurring and ongoing projects. Act as a project manager for special projects, at the request of your immediate supervisor or the Executive Director.
  • Consistently demonstrates ability to respond to changing situations in a flexible manner in order to meet current needs, such as reprioritizing work as necessary.
  • Consistently demonstrates ability to take the initiative to make decisions/choices without direct supervision.

l Prepares invoices for Grants/Programs to be sent out on a timely basis.

Supervision (10%)

  • Supervises Fiscal Department staff.
  • Interprets and implements RTFCIL policy and procedures for Fiscal Department staff.
  • Helps develop and monitor professional standards for the Fiscal Department staff.
  • Evaluates performance.
  • Carries out disciplinary action when necessary.

Professionalism (10%)

· Exhibits high levels of professionalism and confidentiality in working with consumers, directors, managers, staff, and the public both within and outside of the CIL.

· Exhibits high levels of professionalism, confidentiality, and effective communication skills in establishing collaborative working relationships with both members of the Administration and Programs & Services Leadership Teams, as well as the Board of Directors.

· Demonstrates excellent oral and written communication skills in disseminating information to various constituencies, both inside and outside of the CIL.

Miscellaneous (5%)

  • Serve as a staff liaison on designated Board committees; attend training and seminars as needed.
  • Attends/participates in training, conferences, workshops, seminars and other meetings.
  • Performs duties according to RTFCIL confidentiality guidelines for the protection of consumer information as required under the US-DHH HIPAA Regulations.
  • Participate in outreach activities, workshops or seminars in areas of independent living, Project Able, The American’s with Disabilities Act, assistive technology programs, and advocacy.
  • Works a flexible work schedule to accommodate the RTFCIL’s needs as applicable.
  • Ensures all work is completed in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Performs all duties commensurate with the RTFCIL Policy & Procedures Manual.
