RLC Engineering, PLLC is Hiring a Structural Engineer Near Falmouth, ME

Description

General Description of Position

RLC is seeking a dynamic Structural Engineer to join the growing civil/structural engineering team. This position will entail work on a variety of electric power delivery and renewable generation projects as well as commercial and industrial projects. This individual must be self-motivated and eager to work within a multi-disciplinary team. Reporting to the Hallowell or Falmouth office is preferred, but remote working arrangements within northern New England will be considered.

Essential Functions of Position:

  1. Prepare plans and specifications for buildings, industrial and utility structures, foundations, and other structures for a variety of projects.
  2. Prepare design criteria, calculations, specifications, reports, and other documents.
  3. Work with designers/drafters to prepare plan sets.
  4. Collaborate with other design disciplines.
  5. Attend site visits and project site inspections.

Other Functions of Position:

  1. Serve as lead civil/structural engineer on small to medium size projects.
  2. Review construction submittals.

Requirements

  1. Minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited school with a focus on structures. A Master’s Degree in structures is preferred.
  2. Three to ten years of experience in structural design practice of buildings and/or industrial structures.
  3. Licensed professional engineer or Engineer-Intern with the desire to obtain PE licensure.
  4. Knowledgeable in the design of structural steel systems and concrete foundations. Additional experience with wood and masonry design considered a plus.
  5. Computer skills in the use of AutoCAD, Excel, Mathcad, RISA suite (or other finite element software), and Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
  6. Excellent written and oral communication skills to effectively communicate within the organization and outside with clients.
