Preferred Qualifications 6 years of combined accounting experience; Big 4 public accounting, public company and industry experience is ideal Substantial experience in and working knowledge of authoritative U.S. GAAP technical accounting research and application Strong analytical, problem solving and collaboration skills Ability to make judgment calls regarding the resolution of issues Excellent written and verbal communication skills Proficiency in technical accounting writing Ability to manage competing and deadline sensitive priorities Ability to work effectively with all levels of the organization Strong organizational skills and process orientation Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite Bachelor's degree or MBA in accounting Active CPA required Job Summary As a Technical Accounting Manager, you'll be responsible for supporting Rocket Companies accounting and finance organization to help ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP on various technical accounting matters and emerging issues. You'll work closely with members of Rocket’s accounting and finance organization and the broader business in supporting Rocket’s initiatives and communicating their accounting treatment. You'll also be responsible for the development and communication of and adherence with Rocket accounting policies. This is an opportunity to also work closely with the Financial Reporting team on various accounting topics and their impact on the external financial statements. This is an individual contributor role that reports to the Vice President of Accounting. Responsibilities Research, resolve and document technical accounting issues in accordance with U.S. GAAP Collaborate with external auditors on technical accounting topics and new accounting issues Review methodologies and calculations connected with the most significant accounting areas, often including management estimates and assumptions Support the Financial Reporting team on the preparation of monthly, quarterly and annual financial statements Prepare, update and ensure adherence with accounting policies Conduct periodic training to update finance and accounting teams on new and emerging accounting standards Monitor and communicate relevant information regarding new and emerging accounting standards and provide assistance in implementing new standards Interact with other members of management on special projects Communicate information requested by senior leadership Communicate and embody the culture and mission of the company Who We Are Rocket Companies is a Detroit-based holding company consisting of personal finance and consumer service brands, including Rocket Mortgage, Rocket Mortgage Canada ULC, Rocket Homes, Rocket Loans, Rocket Auto, Rock Central, Amrock, Core Digital Media, Rock Connections, and Lendesk.
