Position Summary

The Production Coordinator is primarily responsible for job work order (WO) creation and monitoring, in accordance with the Master Production Schedule and also Internal Research & Development (IRAD) demands. The Production Coordinator will work closely with the Master Production Scheduler ensuring the timely execution of the master plan via WO release and following oversight. The Production Coordinator is responsible for knowing the status of released work orders and for generally promoting their on-time fulfillment. Whereas the Master Production Scheduler is creating the production plan, the Production Coordinator is responsible for implementing it, such that committed fulfillment dates are met. The Production Coordinator is also a major contributor to the RIX continuous improvement program.

Responsibilities

• Work order creation and monitoring to ensure fulfillment of the MPS plan.
• Ensuring that job work order release packages are complete, accurate and aligned with the MPS.
• Actively contribute to the master scheduling process, ensuring the schedule is achievable.
• Identify throughput constraints and collaborate with other Operations functions to identify means for optimizing factory output.
• Participate in the Sales and Operations Planning process by supporting the continuous maintenance of the Master Production Schedule.
• Establish and maintain processes, procedures and reports that are relevant to schedule based performance.
• Perform all other duties in the best interest of the company as directed by their supervisor.

Requirements

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma
• Knowledge of industry standards, technical drawings, and manufacturing procedures.
• In depth knowledge of Operational work flows, and production and inventory control (P&IC) techniques.
• Demonstrated working knowledge in ERP systems (Infor Cloud Suite, Avante, SAP, Oracle)
• Analytical and problem solving skills
• Proven interpersonal skills
• Understanding of manufacturing processes preferably in a metal machine shop or assembly environment. Must have the ability to read and understand structural drawings and schematics. Must have an understanding of basic MRP principles. Requires high energy, good attitude, resourcefulness and a strong sense of urgency.
• Ability to perform calculations such as percentages, ratios and fractions.
• Basic computer skills with the ability to adapt to a variety of software applications. Ability to understand the assembly, use and application of compressors and generators.
• Ability to communicate with others to exchange information both orally and in writing.
• Citizenship: U.S. Citizen or qualified U.S. Person in accordance with ALU 22CFR 120.15. May require the ability to obtain DOD security clearance.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field (Supply Chain, Business or Engineering preferred)
• APICS certification in Material Management or Production and Inventory Management
• Experience in an engineer-to-order, project environment
• Experience with engineering drawings/BOM’s
• Practical familiarity with Lean manufacturing principles

Physical Requirements & Work Environment

This position is regularly exposed to the following conditions:

• Manufacturing, warehouse and office environments
• While working near moving equipment, mechanical parts and lift trucks; must have the ability to follow safe operating procedures.
• May be exposed to loud noise, fumes and/or toxic chemicals.

Must have the following physical abilities:

• Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stretch, reach, and lift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds regularly.
• Ability to sit or stand for extended periods at a desk or table as well as machine tools or printers.
