Summary
In this position, you will play a lead role in building and maturing the company's compliance program, with a focus on privacy compliance. This role will be responsible for developing the privacy compliance approach, supporting the company’s overall compliance program, conducting testing, preparing reports and metrics, and tracking remediation across all business/product lines and teams. Your results will have a significant impact on the company's growth and will impact the decisions of the highest levels of management.
Responsibilities
- Track remediation efforts, evaluate adequacy, and close out gaps
- Provide program management for privacy and compliance initiatives
- Review and provide input on key compliance documentation, such as Privacy Impact Assessments and the company’s annual compliance risk assessment
- Support Rivian’s ongoing compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA)
- Identify and evaluate new laws and regulations and the potential impact thereof
- Identify applicable compliance requirements for new products, services, and markets
- Provide updates on progress, escalations, and issue analysis to key stakeholders and management through regular reports and metrics
- Assist with other risk and compliance matters, as requested
- Approximately 70% of your time will be focused on privacy compliance, with the remainder focused on the company’s overall compliance program
Qualifications
- Experience creating and writing privacy and compliance policies, standards, procedures and guidelines
- Knowledge of laws, regulations, international standards and best practices as they relate to privacy and compliance programs
- Proficiency in risk management methodologies, frameworks and principles Technical understanding of data management, data flows, data controls
- Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills (verbal and written)
- Demonstrated teamwork and collaboration skills, in particular in leading or contributing to global and multi-functional teams
- Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP), Certified Compliance & Ethics Professional (CCEP), and other relevant certifications a plus
