RiverWoods Durham is currently hiring for a full time Maintenance Mechanic to come join our team. This is is a Monday - Friday position with an on-call after hours rotation every 3 weeks. Responsibilities

Maintenance Mechanics perform a wide variety of building maintenance, repairs and services. Joining an existing high-performing team of mechanics and specialists, the right candidate will be a generalist with a broad range of skills who can work as part of a team and solo. They will be a problem-solver who looks forward to developing relationships with our residents and the rest of the team at RiverWoods

In addition to completing work orders and project work, responsibilities for the position include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Assist in fire drills and emergency response procedures to keep our residents safe
  • Respond to medical alert calls (no first aid necessary)
  • Participate in on call rotation with other staff

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent and a valid driver's license. 
  • The ability to operate a variety of power and hands tools is required.
  • A basic knowledge of general maintenance and equipment repairs along with a minimum of one year experience in the field also required.
  • Additional skills are also highly valued: HVAC, plumbing, floor care, drywall, construction, and/or audio-visual experience will help you make an impact in this role.
