Transco Lines, Inc., established in 1984, is a growing dry van trucking company with 600 power units serving 48 states while headquartered in Russellville, AR and with its largest terminal location in North Little Rock. The Chief Operating Officer position is a new role reporting to the President/Owner of the Company. In this role you would be expected to lead our team of high-performing professionals to new levels of safety, efficiency and productivity. Our ideal candidate has extensive experience within the industry, perhaps having worked your way up through the ranks to your role as an executive. We have our eye out for a COO with strong leadership skills and the ability to approach business from a creative and analytical point of view.

Objectives of this Role

  • Collaborate with the CEO in setting and driving organizational vision, operational strategy, and hiring needs
  • Translate strategy into actionable goals for performance and growth helping to implement organization-wide goal setting, performance management, and annual operating planning
  • Oversee Company Fleet Operations to include fleet management and customer service functional areas.
  • Continue to foster and build a highly inclusive culture ensuring team members thrive and organizational outcomes are met
  • Ensure effective recruiting, onboarding, professional development, performance management, and retention
  • Adhere to Company, federal, state, and local business requirements, enforcing compliance and taking action when necessary

Daily and Monthly Responsibilities

  • Analyze internal operations and identify areas of process enhancement
  • Develop actionable business strategies and plans that ensure alignment with short-term and long-term objectives developed in tandem with the CEO
  • Develop and monitor performance with KPI tracking and establish corrective measures as needed
  • Maintain and build trusted relationships with employees, contractors, customers business suppliers


Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, or related field
  • 7 years’ experience in senior executive leadership positions with business(es) of at least $100M in revenue
  • Strong knowledge of financial statements, budgeting and forecasting
  • Leadership skills, with steadfast resolve and personal integrity
  • Understanding of advanced business planning and trucking regulatory issues
  • A solid grasp of data analysis and performance metrics to include PBI
  • Be able to diagnose problems quickly and have foresight into potential issues
  • This role will involve significant daily interaction with drivers, contractors and office staff – i.e. management by walking around is required
