Riverside Research is seeking an RF Engineer with experience in high-power RF energy (e.g., electromagnetic pulse) propagation and analysis (e.g., shielding and coupling) from component to integrated, full-scale system levels to support work for the Engineering & Support Solutions Directorate in Dayton, OH. A successful candidate for this position will routinely provide defense planners and operators with timely and accurate characterizations of high-power RF energy, coupled signals into system cables, harnesses, control boxes and underlying microelectronics. Additionally, the candidate will generate recommendations in the form of technical briefings, reports, and other analytic documents, and provide guidance to junior staff members, oversee work plans and taskings, authoritatively contribute to multi-functional analytic teams, and maintain currency in understanding relevant state-of-the-art in high-power RF protection technologies.

Job Responsibilities:
- Responsible for the research, development, and test and evaluation activities across a variety of functional subsystems which include prime power sources, pulsed power systems, RF sources, high-power antennas, cabling, harnesses, and sensors. Investigate, model, test and analyze RF propagation to optimize performance and minimize adverse effects.
- Work with a team of scientists, engineers, and technicians that interface across projects to ensure successful protection of system components from High-Power RF and other radiation effects.
- Support system and microelectronics design engineers to identify high risk areas and develop mitigation strategies and support hardware integration of associated components onto platforms.
- Interface with technical personnel and customers to clarify tasking, identify problems, suggest changes, and develop and document final solutions.
- Lead projects and develop innovative technical concepts and development activities.
- Prepare presentations and brief to a variety of stakeholders internal and external to the organization.
Required Qualifications:
- Must be able to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance
- Bachelor's degree in engineering discipline or related STEM field
- 5 years of experience in development, testing and characterization of high-power RF systems either through modeling, simulation and analysis, hardware systems or both
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Excellent customer service skills, with an advanced understanding of customer relationship building
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively within or lead a team of peers, as well as excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to communicate complex analyses at a level comprehensible to laymen and senior-level government representatives
- Ability to clearly express in writing technical analysis results and program characterizations
Desired Qualifications:
- Master's degree in engineering discipline or related STEM field
- Experience in testing and analysis of microelectronics components using industry-leading tools
- Military or defense-related weapons system experience
