Title : Assistant Director, ODR Project - Based Housing Reports to: Director Schedule : Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm Status : Full Time, Exempt, Management Location : Van Nuys Benefits : Medical, Dental, Vision, Retirement Planning (403b) Summary

The Assistant Director of ODR Project-based Housing will support the Senior Director and Director of Project-based Housing to develop and implement ODR in Project-based Housing sites. The Assistant Director will also oversee employees and client care as well as assist with contract oversite for teams located across Los Angeles County.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

1. Work with staff to develop effective, trusting relationships with clients using a client-centered approach that includes motivational interviewing and trauma informed care and harm reduction

2. Provide administrative oversite and systems organization for ODR Project-based Housing sites.

3. Create procedures related to ODR and Project-based Housing to ensure effective continuity of care for clients.

4. Work in collaboration with the ODR scattered-site team to ensure integration around policies and procedures.

5. Provide clinical consultation to staff working with difficult clinical situations and suggest appropriate clinical interventions.

6. Lead crisis intervention for clients and follow-up on grievances

7. Monitor daily coordination of program operations including supervision of Program Managers.

8. Work with Brilliant Corners to address policy or client related advocacy issues.

9. Assist Program Management staff in recruitment, selection, training, supervision, and evaluation of direct service staff.

10. In partnership with Director of Project-based Housing, provide leadership to housing department program managers and case managers.

11. Ensure that data is being entered into the DHS databases in a timely manner.

12. Assist with creating and overseeing ODR Psychiatry referrals and schedule.

13. Oversee LVN staff and ensure medication is being managed appropriately.

14. Assist with reviewing and submitting court reports.

15. Obtain LPS designation and assess client for 51/50 holds, when needed.

16. Attend scheduled ODR meetings with DHS and provide leadership in presenting micro, mezzo, and macro level successes, concerns, and ask for system support.

17. Assist with facilitating team meetings, case conferences, and staff trainings

18. Monitor that staff are providing appropriate level of service and that progress notes are being completed in a timely manner.

19. Organize documentation for housing applications and support initial lease-up procedures for new ODR Project-based Housing sites.

20. Ensure intake and psychosocial assessments are completed for all referrals to Project-based Housing sites within timeline listed in DHS ODR and ICMS work order.

21. Ensure data entry accuracy for reporting requirements.

22. Oversee chart accuracy for audit purposes.

23. Maintain client confidentiality at all times and ensure to follow agency, state and HIPAA laws.

24. Ensure adherence to department and agency policies and procedures.

25. Perform other duties, as assigned.

Qualifications

1. Licensed Mental Health Provider holding an MSW, or equivalent degree, or completed hours towards licensure and able to sit for examine preferred.

2. Extensive experience working with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and co-occurring disorders as well as experience working with the criminal justice population.

3. At least 2 years of management/supervisory experience preferred.

4. Able to work in a high tolerance Harm Reduction model with Members who have multiple barriers.

5. Demonstrated knowledge of issues faced by population served.

6. Extensive knowledge of local and federal government benefits and entitlements.

7. Highly detail oriented with excellent time management, organizational, written, verbal, and cross-cultural communication skills.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

1. On occasion walk or drive to different local sites

2. Regularly required to sit, stand, bend and occasionally lift or carry up to 35 pounds

3. Field (may need to travel) and indoor office environment

4. Will necessitate working in busy and loud environments

5. Will be exposed to elements like cold, heat, dust, noise and odor

6. May need to bend, stoop, twist , and sit throughout the day
