Position Summary
We are looking for a qualified Cabinet Designer to join our Merchandising team in Denver, CO. This position will oversee cabinet layouts for all plans in all markets from a variery of vendor.
Responsibilities
- Review and approve Cabinet Diagrams per national guidelines focusing on box sizes, design, alignment with packages and pricing
- Prepare base cabinet layouts for kitchens, laundry rooms and baths for new floor plans. Alter layouts on existing product as needed.
- Review all plan revision memos and reference blueprints to determine any cabinet implications
- Partner with architecture on plan development and revisions to identify and cabinet related concerns
- Communicate plan releases and plan revisions to vendors and request updates to layouts
- Post approved layouts to shared drives
- Connecting with Home Galleries and Manufacturer Reps for New Markets and ongoing training opportunities.
- Gathering feedback from Home Galleries Nationwide to improve and streamline cabinet options
- Keeping accurate inventory of physical cabinet samples for Materials Room
- Develop Cabinet Basics for each Market outlining Community Specifics
- Reference NKBA Guidelines and IRC CODES for space planning
Requirements
Education: Interior Design Certificate/AA/BA or equivalent experience
Experience: Minimum 2 years’ experience in Kitchen and Bath design with a heavy focus on cabinets
Licenses or Certifications: Must possess a valid driver’s license and current auto insurance.
Skill In:
- 20/20
- Adobe Pro
- Microsoft Office Suite
- AutoCad or Revit preferred but not required
Subject to applicable laws, must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 by start date under M.D.C. Holdings, Inc. vaccination mandate for all employees who will be working in the Corporate/Home Office at 4350 S. Monaco St. effective Nov. 1st, 2021.

Compensation
- Estimated Annual Salary: $60,000 - $80,000
- FLSA Status: Exempt
- Bonus Type: Year-End Discretionary
