As an integral part of the design team at Rice Companies, Project Architects provide design experience, along with knowledge of existing building codes and Federal requirements, to design aesthetically appealing and functional solutions to customer’s building requirements while working within local building codes and regulations. Project Architects also works closely with Rice Companies Project Executives, Engineers, Project Designers and Project Managers along with customers to implement completed drawings meeting all require specifications.

Key Responsibilities: 

• Presents designs, drawings and renderings to customers for approval with the capability of sketching additions/deletions “on the spot” with customers
•  Produces and presents designs, drawings, and renderings to customers for approval with the ability to sketch additions/deletions “on the spot” with customers.
• Ensures works are carried out to specific standards, building codes, guidelines, and regulations by having knowledge of latest building codes for specific job area
• Maintains current licensure in American Institute of Architects (AIA) and National Council of Architectural Registration Boards (NCARB)
• Works closely and coordinates efforts with other professionals including architectural designers, engineers and construction staff
• Plans and executes high-quality design work and Construction Documents; producing detailed technical documents and project specifications as required for given current projects, while maintaining budget constraints and timelines.
• Works with the Senior Architect and other Design team leaders to oversee designers and ensure access to needed rough sketches, schematics, and verbal instructions. Ensures compliance with all company project design, documentation, and submittal standards.
• Provides support to designers in reviewing project scope, defining product specification, application and electrical requirements for code compliance and legal requirements.
• Provides certification of construction documents prepared by Design team and produce and assemble plans and information necessary for general contractors to bid on projects.
• Contributes to business development by establishing confidence with clients.

Qualifications

• B. S. or Master’s Degree in Architecture
• 5-7 years of proven work experience as an Architect
• Currently registered and licensed to operate in states of MN and ND. 
• Proven ability in AUTOCad and Revit software programs
• Well versed in design and construction of commercial and industrial buildings
