Description
BASIC FUNCTION
Work with production to ensure the product being produced meet specifications and are performing as expected. Assist production staff with quality issues. Responsible for ensuring shipments of inventory and raw goods, measuring the specifications of random items in each production run and training team members to refine production quality. Monitor information about parts rejected for quality errors and perform statistical analysis on data to provide information about improving production processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Work with production team to ensure the products being produced meet the customer’s expectations. They examine materials to make sure they meet quality expectations then assess the final product after production. Their role is to establish an acceptable variation range for products and identify when something fails to meet those requirements.
Document the results of their inspections and make recommendations on how to prevent common errors or defects. They calibrate the equipment they use to measure products to make sure they get an accurate reading. They fill out paperwork to identify discarded inventory and measure the error rate for various stages in the supply and production chain.
Audit quality of parts being produced. Work with production teams to solve problems with parts being produced on the line. Identify and investigate problems, root causes and provides solutions to production workers in resolving these problems/issues. They may operate 3D Scanner for precise measurement of prototype, new and existing parts for production and engineering.
Responsible for ensuring calibration is complete on all equipment throughout the plant. Be an active technical resource to production to ensure all parts are being measured accurately and within given tolerance levels for equipment. Requires the understanding of principles and use of micrometers and calipers.
Test new molds to verify proper dimensions and specifications are met (where applicable).
Monitor rejected materials from the production line and finished products.
Recommend changes that would increase the quality of parts.
Perform all other tasks necessary and/or assigned.
STANDARD QUALIFICATIONS
Education: High School Diploma.
Experience: Two to four years of related experience. Additional education can be substituted for experience and vice versa.
Working Knowledge: Knowledge of technical materials at a level normally acquired through completion of an Associate’s Degree in mechanical drawing or equivalent experience. Intermediate-level skills in word processing and spreadsheets.
