JOB SUMMARY
The Food Safety & Compliance Specialist will provide support to FIFCO USA quality systems, raw material programs, inspection processes, input data, and prepare reports for company wide and customers programs - as they related to Quality and food safety.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead execution of food safety and compliance audit programs.
- Help maintain existing policies, procedures, and manuals to stay in full compliance with current internal, 2nd, and 3rd party audit agencies while further developing and revising those documents as regulations and requirements change.
- Perform GFSI-based document and “on the floor” auditing with detailed action plans outlining root cause, corrective, and preventative action plans as required. Including vendor and contract facilities.
- Daily food safety and quality-related document review/auditing.
- Lead traceability and mock recall program.
- Assist in training internal audit team members.
- Help lead HACCP program management and development (as needed).
- Help lead change management responsibilities related to food safety and quality compliance.
- Work with the Wholesaler Sales & Consumer Affairs team, in conjunction with quality team members, on all food safety-related customer and consumer complaints
- Ability to read, write, and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to read, analyze and interpret standard trade journals, financial reports, and legal documents.
- Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community
- Ability to effectively present information to top management, employees, managers, vendors, and customers.
- Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference.
- Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical solutions.
- Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
- Ability to interpret various technical instructions in mathematical or written form and deal with abstract and concrete variations.

EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE
- Associates Degree
- Three years of related experience or equivalent work experience
- Experience in a food/beverage production facility is a plus
- Intermediate working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
- Statistical knowledge is a plus
- HHACCP/HARPC certification
