We have four physicians who are leaders in their field and routinely lecture around the country and at national meetings.

Marketing Communications Manager Role & Responsibilities

The Marketing Communications Manager will support the development and execution of external and internal communications for physicians, including lectures, symposia, and other seminars and other online and printed communication materials. Reporting to the Practice Administrator, the Marketing Communications Manager will build and maintain a referral network of local Ophthalmologists and Optometrists, create brand awareness in the community, and improve the patient experience.

Community Outreach

Practice & Physician Liaison

  • Develop and implement effective communication strategies that build referral network programs, brand awareness, and patient satisfaction
  • Facilitate long-term relationships between the practice and referral sources in the community; Keep track of all local ophthalmologists and optometrists
  • Track referral patterns to identify new referral doctors or fall off from existing referral doctors
  • Evaluate referring physician relationships, prepare monthly reports for partners, develop strategies for addressing any concerns
  • Organize and implement lectures, symposia, and other seminars on a regular basis
  • New physician/new office location Onboarding with announcements (social, website, print and newsletters), grand opening celebration, meet and greet

Community Events

  • Patient education and branding opportunities/speaking engagements
  • Organize and Execute Continuing Education Events
    • Event planning/venue contracting
    • Sponsorship solicitation
    • Run of show
    • Collaborate with Practice Administrator and physicians

Website Maintenance/Updates

  • Work with digital marketing team to maintain top listing/positive SEO
  • Monthly digital performance review call
  • Follow up calls to poor reviews/upset patients
  • Manage online reputation management platform

Social Media Monitoring and Posting

  • LinkedIn, Instagram and Facebook

Internal Responsibilities

  • Work with internal Clinical Research team to develop and implement internal and external marketing strategies to boost clinical trial enrollment
  • Utilize EHR data for research recruitment, presentations, and papers
  • Provide Employee Engagement and Recognition Strategies
  • Plan and manage the design, content, and production of all marketing materials
  • Oversee social committee: Annual Holiday Party planning and Mid-Year Family Event and other team building activities

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree in related area and / or equivalent experience
  • Three (3) or more years of consumer health media experience. Five (5) years or more, preferred.
  • Knowledge and understanding of technical applications to personally perform technical work, including design concepts, various media, and applications.
  • Solid skills to create, develop, and implement comprehensive long and short-term strategic communications plans.
  • Knowledge and skills to advise and consult with management to ensure delivery of the desired message to the target and / or broad general audiences. Experience providing editing commentary feedback in a collaborative environment
  • Demonstrated experience in developing printed materials, digital media, and meeting materials that present scientific or medical information to a general audience.
  • Experience writing and editing engaging, objective and accurate stories about science, health and medicine.
  • Experience with website and social media, including the ability to maintain, update and post new information using a content management system.
  • Understanding of electronic newsletter layout, design and production.
  • Demonstrated experience and comfort in using social media; experience in evaluating best social network avenues for different targeted audiences.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Solid skill in producing and manipulating graphic images for marketing and outreach purposes.
  • Understanding of print and digital media production including HTML.
  • Excellent proofreading eye and attention to detail.
