PRN Registered Nurse
Description/Job SummaryNow seeking a PRN Community Registered Nurse to join our St. Louis Residential Team!
Resources for Human Development Missouri's St. Louis Office is now seeking a qualified individual for a flexible Registered Nurse (RN) position.
The RN is expected to coordinate all nursing/medical services for a caseload of clients with intellectual and developmental disabilities supported by RHD Missouri’s Residential Program in St. Louis. In addition, the RN will provide some nursing oversight to individuals supported at our two day programs when necessary. The job duties of this professional level position involve guidance to Direct Support Professionals, Site Supervisors, and Directors regarding medical care of clients and coordinating medical appointments of individuals supported by RHD Missouri St. Louis. The RN will work with outside medical professionals to ensure that individuals served by RHD have their medical needs met as per Department of Mental Health regulations.
The RN will also conduct medication administration training for all employees of RHD Missouri’s direct care staff.
This position is as-needed, and designed to assist primary RN in executing all job responsibilities as assigned.

Responsibilities/Duties:
  • Complete monthly face to face consumer reviews and report necessary outcomes to Residential Site Supervisor or appropriate staff.
  • Manage the ordering/delivery/storage/ administration process of medications for the persons served in accordance with the St. Louis Residential Program. 
  • Educates staff regarding medical needs of consumers and provides educational information as necessary.
  • Completes all necessary forms and/or documentation to support those served by RHD Missouri.
  • Provide medical consultation as needed to ensure safety and well-being of both consumers and caregivers.
  • Participate in Individual Support Planning process.
  • Work cooperatively with residential team to ensure quality service to all those supported by RHD Missouri.
  • Will travel to the different homes in the St. Louis and St. Charles county areas.
  • Act as medical consultant to caregivers and families concerning the well-being of those supported by RHD-Missouri.
  • Teach Medication Administration Level 1 training for agency employees.
  • With assistance from Site Supervisors, ensure all homes meet medical care standards necessary for DMH rules and regulations.
  • Complete documentation as required by RHD, funder/licensing/accreditation bodies.
  • Complete other duties at the discretion of the Residential Director.
Required Experience: Prefer candidate to have at least two years experience in the field of nursing-not required

Required Education:
  • A graduate of a school of professional Nursing (AD, hospital, or BSN); BSN preferred;
  • Current license to practice
Required Qualifications: Candidate must have reliable transportation, car insurance, and a valid driver's license.

Medium lifting requirements: exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds constantly to move objects.
