Role and Responsibilities
RMC is hiring a System Administrator to support Navy customers in the Hampton Roads, Virginia area. This position is primarily located in Norfolk and Dam Neck, VA but the selected candidate will provide occasional support to following sites: Wallops Island, VA; Dahlgren, VA; Great Lakes, IL; Mayport, FL; Rota, Spain
The selected applicant will:
Install, configure, and maintain an organization's local area network (LAN), data communications network, operating systems, and physical and virtual servers
Perform system monitoring and verify the integrity and availability of hardware, network, and server resources and systems
Review System and application logs and verify completion of scheduled jobs, including system backups
Analyze network and server resource consumption and control user access
Install and upgrade software and maintain software licenses
Perform network modeling, analysis, planning, and coordination between network and data communications hardware and software
Ensure compliance with DoD and DoN Cybersecurity compliance requirements, including but not limited to vulnerability remediation and application of DISA STIGS.
Requirements
Five (5) years’ experience in managing sophisticated computer networks. Of the five (5) years, three (3) years’ experience in network architecture and deployment. Must have experience working and completing IT projects, intermediate knowledge designing, installing, configuring, and maintaining networks and their associated components (switches, routers, firewalls, proxy servers etc.). Must demonstrate experience troubleshooting networks, network hardware and software, configuration management, optimizing network performance, monitoring network security, analyzing system logs, documenting network architecture and design. Must have experience designing and implementing network tunnels, diagnosing and repairing connectivity issues, performing vulnerability scanning and installing security patches, and monitoring and measuring the performance of networks and their components.
The selected applicants must have DoD 8570/5239 IAT Level II or Level III Certification (Security CE, CISSP, CASP) and the ability to work independently and as part of a team in various environments.
Security Clearance: An active DoD Top Secret clearance is required. Applicant selected may be subject to a security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information.
Travel will be required for this position. The applicant must posses a current passport or be able to acquire one within 90 days of position start.
RMC employees may be subject to COVID-19 vaccination or testing requirements in order to access government facilities.
