Resource Environmental Solutions LLC is Hiring a Director of Regulatory Affairs Near Boca Raton, FL

Overview

RES is currently accepting applications for Director of Regulatory Affairs based in Delray Beach or Boca Raton, Florida locations. Remote work/location is possible under the right circumstances.

The mission: RES is launching a new business line to extend its core environmental project implementation skillset into carbon by investing, financing, and developing carbon projects for US/Canada with the potential to expand globally as the effort expands. The venture is led by a former KKR, Blackstone, Harvard Business School alumni who recently built a high growth company which listed on the NASDAQ in 2020. This is an opportunity to become a founding employee, help build a new industry and be affiliated with some of the deepest pockets of capital in the alternative asset management industry.

What your day-to-day might look like?

50% of your time, you will be working and guiding varying other professionals on carbon projects to ensure the build and investment yields anticipated carbon credits. This role can include conducting analysis pf carbon credit registration protocols, feasibility studies and project design documents (PDDs), to ascertain the risks of obtaining credits from third party projects. For projects we develop, it could include a more entrepreneurial task of developing our carbon credit registration process, forecasting the credits available based on the applicable carbon registry or compliance protocols, and then executing on the process of registering and verifying future credit issuance.

50% of your time, you will analyze future carbon frameworks to determine the interest level in pursuing projects in targeted geographic locations. Additionally, you will work head to head with the leader of the practice, forming long-term views on the carbon industry and their projects to shape a broader business strategy. As our role into the carbon industry expands, you will ensure that the regulatory team maintains a high level of expertise and knowledge of regulatory practices moving forward.

Qualifications

We would like to talk to you if you have many of the following:

  • 7-15 years of experience in registering or verifying carbon offsets or credits (voluntary and compliance), carbon project development, or carbon credit sales
  • Familiarity and relationships with the carbon credit registries (Verra, ACR, Gold Standard, etc.) and/or compliance-related regulators (California, Quebec, etc.) as well as carbon credit registration processes, including project design documents (PDDs)
