RES is Hiring a Field Service Technician I Near Manor, TX

Summary: As part of a team, the entry-level Field Service Technician I, performs vegetation management, scheduled and unscheduled fieldwork, and other duties required to operate and maintain utility-scale renewable facilities. Fieldwork includes corrective, preventative, and system testing and troubleshooting of systems on-site. Performing DC and AC electrical system diagnosis and repair, including collection and delivery. The employee must be flexible to work in all other aspects required of plant maintenance, to ensure project success.

Requirements:

  • Work collectively as part of a small site team to ensure all tasks are correctly prioritized and delivered in a safe and timely manner at the highest quality.
  • Assist with on-call 24/7 first responder to all alarms and system non-performance.
  • Write JSA’s, work from procedures, and work instructions.
  • Take direction, identify problems, develop solutions, and conduct analysis independently, in collaboration with others.
  • Assist PV Technicians to troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical equipment and components.
  • Assist PV Technicians to troubleshoot and repair AC and DC issues. This may include, inverters, trackers, ac and dc wiring, sensors, PV modules, PV arrays, etc. in a utility-scale solar project.
  • Assist with the replacement of components for, inverters, trackers, modules, sensors, and electrical equipment in a utility-scale solar project.
  • Use a CMMS system as well as spreadsheets for maintenance tracking.
  • Maintain site equipment, facility tools, and parts inventory.
  • Ensure project work complies with and meets contractual standard requirements.
  • Available for 24-hour on-call duty to meet contractual requirements if required.
  • Assist and adhere to the overall site safety policy, ensuring RES’s safety program is correctly implemented and followed.
  • Accurately completes and submits daily required paperwork.
  • Follow safety and security procedures and determine appropriate action when needed. Report potentially unsafe conditions immediately.
  • Operates small equipment, hand tools, and machinery as needed to maintain the property
  • Drives to and on-site during daytime and nighttime hours and in adverse weather conditions.
  • Present, support, and lead by example with a safety and quality-oriented attitude.
  • Other duties as assigned by the manager.
  • Ability to learn and understand electrical testing and diagnostic equipment for both AC and DC.
  • Ability to use electrical tools, hand tools, and machinery, safely and efficiently.
  • Ability to learn and use SCADA and other software control systems.
  • Ability to work in remote field conditions under all weather conditions with limited supervision.
  • Assist with site safety meetings and site inductions.
  • Participate and assist with JSA, and method statements.
  • Participate and assist with LOTO.
  • Interface with Subcontractors and Owners in a professional manner.
  • Follow companies NERC compliance program as required.
  • Ensure building & ground maintenance as well as vegetation control policies are adhered to as required.
  • Assists with tracking deliverables on site.
  • Follow safety and security procedures and determine appropriate action when needed. Report potentially unsafe conditions immediately.

Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • Less than 1 year of experience in a related facility maintenance position; or other comparable relevant experience.
  • Possess and maintain a valid current driver's license, eligible for corporate vehicle insurance coverage.
  • Available to travel to other sites on short notice.
  • Possess general knowledge and ability in the use of hand tools and machinery
  • Electrical and mechanical aptitude
  • Willing to learn new skills and processes.

Anticipated base salary range: $22.50 /hr. - $25.00 /hr. 

The final agreed-upon compensation is based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. This position is bonus eligible.

Occasionally: Carrying 30-50 lbs., pulling and pushing 50-100 lbs., climbing, and sitting are required.

Frequently: Reading, crouching, grasping, gripping handling pinching, reaching, repetitive motions, standing, walking, stooping, and lifting 30-50 lbs. is required.

Constantly: Vision is required.
