Repsol is hiring a Process Engineer with at least five years of related Oil & Gas project engineering experience to support the Marcellus Business Unit. Position will be based onsite in Horseheads, NY, reporting to the Sustaining Facilities & Construction Manager. Summary The primary role of the Process Engineer is to provide process engineering technical expertise to Repsol operating facilities, Production Engineering, Facilities Engineering and Asset teams. The Sustaining Facilities & Construction team is part of the Technical Services Division in the Marcellus Business Unit. Projects range in size from <$50k value that are managed/executed internally using MOC processes, to $15M that require management of multiple external engineering and construction resources. Essential Functions Execute the design related portion of assigned projects within scope of practice, as needed, and manage external engineering resources for the remaining design scope. Review and approve design, equipment selection and specification for assigned projects. Work with the Operations and Maintenance teams to proactively identify and resolve operational issues Provide technical review and completion of process engineering related Management of Change items Serve as Person in Charge of Management of Change items and associated projects. Participate in all aspects of Front End Engineering Design. Complete initial process design, screening and definition of infrastructure improvements in support of Process Safety and business opportunities Provide technical support of Marceullus Operations Regulatory Compliance activities Interface with Facilities Engineering & Construction on execution of projects. Interface with external engineering consultants on project design, modeling, and scope development. Assist in the procurement process by providing technical information and scope of work for various services and equipment. Participate in risk assessments and Process Hazard Assessments (PHA) for projects and operations Interface with S&E on Repsol’s Hazard Management Processes. Mentor Facilities, Operations, Production and Infrastructure Development Engineers Develop and follow the project quality plan, including types of reviews, responsibilities, and participants. Identify and document (with stakeholders) project risks; prepare a risk management plan, including mitigation actions, risk response and contingency plans; follow up on and ensure closure of all identified risks, associated mitigation measures and opportunities. Assist in the planning and budgeting phases for various project and campaigns. Manage engineering drawings, interfacing with various disciplines and contractors. No supervisory duties in this role. Required Technical Qualifications Fully authorized to work in the US without the need for sponsorship now or in the future. Bachelor’s Engineering degree (Chemical, Process, or Mechanical Engineering degree preferred) A full understanding of regulatory requirements, industry codes/standards/installation practices, and other local requirements concerning facility design and construction. Minimum of 5 years related experience in oil and gas operations, specifically in a technical position involving a fast pace, customer focus, and ability to problem solve quickly and effectively. Ability to manage various contractors and coordinate activity across multiple projects and scope of work. Leadership skills to enforce Repsol’s safety culture and standards while maintaining a positive work environment and promoting continuous improvement. Excellent computer skills are required, with the ability to quickly learn to use new software programs. Process simulation experience (HYSIS Pipeflow, Flarenet or similar ) and the ability to interpret/verify results. Knowledge and experience with PA/NY State (PUC/PSC) and PHMSA regulations. Physical / Environmental Demands 90% Office work environment is relatively free of hazards and there are not physically demanding aspects of the job. 10% Field location working conditions involve some physical exertion, exposure to the elements in all weather conditions, rough terrain and hazards inherent in the job, which may include routine travel, confined spaces, working at heights, noise. Light work duties that include exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 pounds of force frequently to move objects. Walking, sitting, standing, talking and driving required Travel – Occasional local travel Location & Schedule Exempt, full time salaried, based out of our office in Horseheads, New York, commuting to the field, project, or asset as necessary.
