Who are we? 

SOLitude Lake Management – a proud member of the Rentokil family of companies - provides aquatic management services to lakes, ponds, reservoirs, and wetlands. SOLitude offers a wide variety of services including fishery programs, algae and aquatic weed control, mechanical harvesting/hydro-raking, installation/maintenance of fountains and aeration systems, and water quality testing. 

Responsibilities

What do our Equipment Operators do?

The primary responsibility of the Equipment Operator is to participate in onwater mechanical management operations in a manner that meets company/client expectations and regulatory compliance. This team member fosters the SOLitude culture, value, and service performance standards.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Aid in the mobilization/demobilization of all equipment
  • Assist in the staging of environmental control measures per permit requirements
  • Operate SOLitude machinery effectively – primarily small watercraft, aquatic weed harvester and aquatic hydro rake.
  • Log all appropriate information regarding mechanical projects in log book – date, project, material collected, loads, etc.
  • Discuss project successes/failures with Project Coordinator for future planning
  • Support the Mechanical Division with maintaining/fixing equipment in a group setting
  • Log all work performed on mechanical machinery in the affiliated log book
  • Collect and return all company receipts in an organized fashion
  • Travel and lodge at various locations, project specific
  • Ability to trailer and tow mechanical equipment.

What do you need?

  • High school diploma or GED
  • 1-2 years in the mechanical application field
  • Comfortable with on-water equipment applications
  • Mechanically inclined
  • Ability to travel as needed
  • Complete licensing/certification programs as necessary (OSHA 10, Hoisting, etc.)
  • The work requires strenuous physical exertion and the employee may be required to drive, stand, walk, bend, climb, kneel and crouch for extended periods of time, as well as see, talk, hear and use hands and arms to grasp, handle, reach and feel. 
  • Strong attention to detail and willingness to learn
  • Have proficient writing and verbal skills
  • Be comfortable working at heights
  • Available to work Monday-Friday and Saturdays as needed
  • Ability to obtain and maintain licenses/certificates as required by federal, state and local regulations
  • Must pass pre-employment background screen and drug test
  • Valid driver’s license/clean driving record
