Rentable is Hiring a Data Engineer Near Madison, WI

At Rentable, we help connect Renters with Property Managers. We believe the best way to do that is with ApartmentIQ, which gives Property Managers an automated way to understand their markets and make important business decisions, such as how to price and advertise their units competitively.

In this role, you will play an integral part in the formation of ApartmentIQ’s Data Team. You will help to ensure that the data we are collecting for our customers is good data and that we are collecting, storing, and presenting it accurately.

Our team is highly technical, with the mission to change the apartment rental industry. We are responsible for creating the tools our customers use every day to advertise and support their properties. We work directly with engineering, sales, and customer success to identify, prioritize and solve the complex issues involved in giving our customers the data they need.

Your Responsibilities.

  • Utilize AWS services to process data collection at scale
  • Plan, create, and maintain data systems and pipelines
  • Conduct data analysis and report on results
  • Research and implement ways to enhance data quality and reliability
  • Discover opportunities for additional data acquisition
  • Improve and expand existing test suites

What Makes You a Great Candidate

  • 2 years of experience in data engineering, software engineering, or other related roles.
  • 2 years in relational database concepts with a solid knowledge of NoSQL technologies such as DynamoDB
  • 2 years of experience maintaining data pipelines from multiple data sources, in collaboration with diverse partners.
  • Experience with best practices for development including query optimization, version control, code reviews, and documentation.
  • Experience working with Amazon Webservices, S3, DynamoDB, Opensearch, or Lambda
  • Experience in coding languages like Python/Ruby/Go
