Renogy is Hiring a R&D Technician Near Ontario, CA

Position Overview:

As a member of the newly established Renogy Solar Product Group in Silicon Valley, you will be a core member of the product development team developing customer oriented solar products and keeping the lab running smoothly. Working at this startup stage group, you will have the opportunity to get involved in many aspects of the company's technical development and internal operations. You'll play a key role in prototyping new products based on c-Si, flexible CIGS and perovskite solar cell technologies. You will contribute to each phase of the product development process including, formalizing requirements, concept ideation, prototyping, design validation, design for manufacture, and reliability testing. This position will report to the Director of Solar Product Development.

  • Work safely and effectively in a PV or semiconductor R&D environment
  • Highly organized and reliable in your work
  • Take initiative to tackle problems you see around you, even if it's not your job
  • Work effectively and efficiently both in small teams and on your own
  • Process and characterize PV devices with laminator, IV tester, IR/NIR, etc.
  • Diagnose and fix problems with lab equipment
  • Use hand/power tools, 3D printers, and other prototyping tools
  • Install, operate, and maintain common PV lab equipment

Qualifications:

  • Experience in hand-on research and development in a lab environment
  • 1-3 years of experience in photovoltaics, semiconductor, electronics or related field

Education:

  • High school or equivalent

Location:

Silicon Valley

Compensation:

Hourly

Physical Requirements:

  • Will sit, stand or walk short distances for up to the entire duration of a shift
  • Will climb stairs on an occasional basis
  • Will lift, push or pull up to 27 pounds on an occasional basis
  • Required to use hands to grasp, lift, handle, carry or feel objects on a frequent basis
  • Must be able to comply with all safety standards and procedures
  • May reach above shoulder heights and below the waist on a frequent basis
  • May stoop, kneel, or bend, on an occasional basis
  • Ability to wear personal protective equipment is required (including but not limited to; steel toed shoes, gloves, safety glasses, hearing protection, protective jacket or apron and arm guards)
