Job Description Summary The ideal Bartender has a passion for hospitality and providing exceptional guest service. The Bartender's primary responsibility is to welcome guests, take orders, and prepare and serve food and beverage items to guests in a friendly, courteous, and timely manner by following quality standards. The Bartender must maintain supplies and follow established cleanliness and sanitation guidelines. FULL & PART-TIME SCHEDULES ARE AVAILABLE. Job Description Work Environment Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment. The work takes place indoors. Must be able to tolerate extreme temperatures - i.e., kitchens, freezers. Expected Hours of Work Must be flexible to work variable weekdays, including weekends and holidays. Must be flexible to work irregular shifts (days, nights). Extended hours are sometimes required. . Education and Experience Experience as a Bartender is required, preferably in a high-volume bar. Experience with computerized cash registers preferred. A high school diploma or General Education Degree (G.E.D.) is preferred. Principle Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Functions) include: Greet, welcome, and interact with guests in a warm and friendly manner. Take orders, prepare drinks according to recipes and serve all food and beverage requests in the bar. Demonstrate complete knowledge of the food and beverage menu. Prepare the bar for service by ensuring bar supplies, garnishes, and utensils are correctly set, following quality standards. Inventory new liquor and beverages. Ensure that all liquor is properly secured before, during, and at the close of shift. Adhere to all cash handling and credit card policies and procedures. Ensure all drink orders from servers are accurately run into the P.O.S. system. Clean and reset the bartop and tables immediately after guests depart. Complete all closing duties and reports as assigned. Secure all liquors, beers, wines, coolers, cabinets, and storage areas. Adhere to established safety and sanitation guidelines. Adhere to uniform and grooming standards. Perform other duties or projects as requested by management. Ability to work with minimal supervision and maintain a high level of performance. Attentive, friendly, helpful, and courteous to all guests, managers, and fellow employees. Must be able to stand and exert fast-paced mobility for the entire shift. Ability to work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team. Food handlers and Alcohol Server certificates are required. Previous front-facing guest service experience required. Must read, write and speak the English language fluently. Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
