Job Description Summary • Job Description Summary The Network Engineer, reporting to the Network & Telecom Manager, acts as the senior technical lead for the networking. This role is responsible for the day-to-day engineering and escalated support of network operations, provides management and oversight of all third-party managed network services and network monitoring providers and is expected to interface regularly with the Systems Operations, Security/Compliance, and End-User Technical Support teams. This role will interface with the managed network operations center as a high level. • Position Summary: Technologies Supported by this Position: Velocloud SDN appliances, Cisco ISR series routers (fixed port and modular), Cisco ASA series security devices, Cisco catalyst series switches and routers, Cisco Wireless controllers Palo Alto family of gateway security appliances, Network Access Control (NAC) solutions, IPAM solutions, MDM solutions, Cisco ISE. Principal Responsibilities: Act as a high level escalation point for our managed network operations center. Work with Network Manager to document, plan, test and implement network initiatives. Network engineering technical resource for project based initiatives. Job Description Responsibilities include: Advanced troubleshooting of all routing, switching, security, voice, video, and wireless services (corporate networks) and providing after-hours problem management support when required Use and interpretation of Network Monitoring and Performance tools including Solarwinds, PRTG, or other Advanced interpretation of Network alarming and outage impact / root cause analysis Interpret and correlate real-time detected network events to proactively identify potential problems Assist application and system / solution owners with troubleshooting problematic network dependent applications Serve as an escalation point for Managed Service Providers Provide advanced network security design and support in accordance with regulatory requirements and best practices Be aware of, follow and enforce existing network change management procedures Work outside of normal business hours when required (scheduled maintenance, escalated problem management, project-based implementations) Principal Job Requirements: Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience with: Enterprise network engineering, design, implementation planning, and operations Expert level network documentation skills including master skills with MS Visio or equivalent Strong oral and written skills Strong team-aware, collaborative approach Able to work with multiple, competing priorities and triage according to business impact or need Advanced level of familiarity in implementing and troubleshooting dynamic routing protocols: IEGRP, OSPF, BGP, and the use of DMVPN and other automated failover technologies. Advanced level of familiarity with IPv4 and IPv6 Experience with NAC, 802.x and high-performance routing solutions Professional level understanding of TCP and UDP including the ability to identify root cause of elusive problems through packet capture, log analysis or other diagnostic tools. Experience Familiarity with SDWAN technologies Desired Certifications: Cisco CCNP, CCDE Education and Experience: Bachelor's degree (B.
