REhoboth Child Development is Hiring an Infant Teacher Near Columbia, SC

An Infant Teacher will provide a nurturing and safe Christian environment for infants to develop and reach age-appropriate milestones, by planning and implementing educational programs.

Duties: Teach faithfully the Word of God. Stimulate emotional, intellectual, and social growth of students by developing and directing educational programs and activities tailored to assigned class and supervise day care. Provide safe environment by maintaining orderly, clean, and appealing facilities including eliminating or removing known safety hazards, following and enforcing standards and procedures, and complying with legal recommendations. Encourage student participation by providing interactive activities. Encourage development of student self-control by utilizing and modeling classroom management techniques. Treat each child with respect, dignity, and care. Be supportive of cultural differences and different family structures. Improve educational quality results by studying, evaluating, and re-designing processes to recommend positive changes. Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities to include reading professional publications, maintaining professional networks, and participating in professional organizations. Enhance pre-school center reputation by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests; and explore opportunities to add value to job accomplishments. Keep a written plan of daily class activities Keep current developmental records of children in class Develop weekly/monthly/quarterly themes and plans to be submitted to the director for approval 2 weeks in advance of implementation and provide written and thorough plans/guidelines for substitutes Give direction to volunteers Be aware of and comply with personnel policies adopted by the RCDC Board Attend and actively participate in staff meetings and RCDC functions Participate in professional and spiritual growth activities Oversee the entire classroom or group situation. Keep a written record of who is in your care at all times Become familiar with SCDSS Child Care Regulations and Rehoboth Baptist policies and procedures Ensure the health and safety of the children: maintain knowledge of and administer first aid, respond to emergencies, know and execute fire drill procedures, dispense and record medication, and report accidents per Rehoboth Child Development Center procedures.

Parent relations: Communicate with parents on a regular basis through conversation, class work and letters, for exchanging information, maintaining a positive rapport and relationship between home and the child development center, and encouraging parent involvement in the center. Meet with parents when requested or necessary. Informs staff and parents of curriculum by preparing and submitting lesson plans, posting schedules and curriculum outlines. Keep parents informed by posting parent information in the classroom; as well as maintaining and sharing records of child's progress and behavior with the parents.

Requirements/Qualifications: High School Diploma, 6 months Early Childhood experience required, ECD 101 preferred. Must be able to pass SLED, FBI and Child Registry checks
