Requirements: Respiratory Therapy Care Practitioner who is a graduate of an American Medical Association approved training program. Has successfully passed the certification examination. Maintains a current RCP license, CPR certification.
Duties:
1. CPR
2. Artificial airway management
3. Aerosolized drug administration
4. Oxygen therapy
5. Humidity therapy
6. CPAP therapy
7. Pulse oximetry
8. Capnography
9. Patient assessment
10. Effective communication with other department and family members
11. Operation of all equipment in accordance with department policy
12. Quality control of all equipment
13. Participation in the facilities quality improvement programs
14. Equipment cleaning
15. Participation in in-service education program
16. Following Physician orders
17. Respond to emergency calls on an on-call basis.
18. Other assigned duties
Physical and Emotional Demands: Good physical and emotional health. Needs to comprehend and communicate with staff, residents and their families.
Exposure Risks: Normal work routine could involve exposure to blood and body fluids. Responsible for following OSHA guideline standard and the use of universal precautions.
Working Conditions: Hours indicated by the facilities needs.
You may need to make arrangements to come to work during inclement weather.
